This study was designed as a prospective trial with retrospective control group to determine feasibility for implementing a high-dose prolonged magnesium sulfate infusion for adjuvant analgesia in the pediatric intensive care unit. Approval was granted for study of children receiving total pancreatectomy with islet cell autotransplantation and liver transplantation ages 3-18 years.

Objectives: Extubation failure (EF) in PICU patients is reintubation within 48, 72, or 96 hours of planned extubation (EF48, EF72, and EF96, respectively). Methods: In a prospective, multicenter, interventional, adaptive-design trial, we randomly assigned patients with symptomatic subacute or chronic subdural hematoma with an indication for surgical evacuation to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization plus surgery (treatment group) or surgery alone (control group).

Mycophenolate Mofetil-Induced Lymphoproliferative Disorder in a Young Adult With Chronic Posterior Uveitis.

To present a case of a young adult with bilateral chronic posterior uveitis resulting from Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease treated with mycophenolate mofetil who subsequently developed vitreoretinal lymphoma in the right eye. A case and its findings were analyzed. A 34-year-old Hispanic woman presented with an 8-year history of chronic recurrent posterior uveitis in both eyes secondary to VKH disease.

Delayed Mandibular Hematoma Following Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM) Usage.

Selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) have been used for various conditions since the late 1990s. Functioning similarly to testosterone, they are used to improve sexual function, skeletal muscle mass, and bone mass, and exhibit other favorable physiological effects. While SARMs are associated with side effects varying from edema to polycythemia, the biggest concern is their lack of regulation, as they are not FDA approved.

Purpose: Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging has been widely used in clinical practice. Long axial field-of-view (LAFOV) systems have enhanced clinical practice by leveraging their technological advantages and have emerged as the new state-of-the-art PET imaging modalities. A consensus was conducted to explore expert views in this emerging field to comprehensively elucidate the proposed workflow in LAFOV PET/CT examinations and highlight the potential challenges inherent in the workflow.
