Tafasitamab plus lenalidomide (TAFA-LEN) treatment relevance pre- or post-anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy is debated. We analyzed patients with large B-cell lymphoma in the DESCAR-T registry treated with axi[1]cel or tisa-cel in ≥3rd line and TAFA-LEN before (n = 15, "TL-pre-CAR-T" set) or directly after (n = 52, "TL-post-CAR-T" set) CAR T-cell therapy. We compared TAFA-LEN v.

Background: Given the scarce donor supply, an increasing number of so-called marginal or extended criteria donor (ECD) organs are used for liver transplantation. These ECD liver grafts are however known to be associated with a higher rate of early allograft dysfunction and primary non-function because of a greater vulnerability to ischemia-reperfusion injury. The end-ischemic hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (HOPE) technique may improve outcomes of liver transplantation with ECD grafts by decreasing reperfusion injury.

Purpose: Despite antiviral therapy (ART), 800,000 deaths still occur yearly and globally due to HIV infection. In parallel with the good virological control and the aging of this population, multiple comorbidities [HIV-associated-non-AIDS (HANA) conditions] may now be observed.
Methods: HIV adult patients hospitalized in intensive care unit (ICU) from all the French region from university and non-university hospital who participate to the OutcomeRea™ database on a voluntary basis over a 24-year period.

Objective: To evaluate and compare overall survival and progression-free survival in two groups of patients with advanced ovarian cancer, managed by neoadjuvant chemotherapy (3 cycles or more) followed by interval debulking surgery. Secondary objectives regarded surgical morbidity and extent of cytoreduction.
Material And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study, in a referral center, evaluating the management of patients diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer (FIGO IIIC-IV) beneficiating of interval surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Background: Management of rectovaginal fistula (RVF) in Crohn's disease (CD) is challenging. Available studies are heterogeneous and retrospective, with short-term follow-up. The aim of this study was to assess the overall long-term medico-surgical treatment results in women with RVF due to CD.

Background: We aimed to assess the prognostic value of repeated measurements of serum (1-3)-β-D-glucan (BDG), mannan-antigen (mannan-Ag), and antimannan antibodies (antimannan-Ab) for the occurrence of invasive candidiasis (IC) in a high-risk nonimmunocompromised population.
Methods: This was a preplanned ancillary analysis of the EMPIRICUS Randomized Clinical Trial, including nonimmunocompromised critically ill patients with intensive care unit-acquired sepsis, multiple colonization, and multiple organ failure who were exposed to broad-spectrum antibacterial agents. BDG (>80 and >250 pg/mL), mannan-Ag (>125 pg/mL), and antimannan-Ab (>10 AU) were collected repeatedly.

Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of sacral nerve modulation (SNM) in a large cohort of patients implanted for at least 10 years, quantify adverse event rates, and identify predictive factors of long-term success.
Summary Background Data: Few studies have evaluated the long-term success of SNM.
Methods: Data collected prospectively from patients implanted for fecal incontinence (FI) in 7 French centers between January 1998 and December 2008 were retrospectively analyzed.

Objective: According to a meta-analysis of 7 studies, the median number of patients with at least one adverse event during the surgery is 14.4%, and a third of those adverse events were preventable. The occurrence of adverse events forces surgeons to implement corrective strategies and, thus, deviate from the standard surgical process.

Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of sacral nerve modulation (SNM) in patients with faecal incontinence (FI) after pelvic radiotherapy in comparison with results of SNM for FI related to other conditions.
Methods: Prospectively collected data from patients who underwent SNM therapy between January 2010 and December 2015 at 7 tertiary colorectal units were reviewed retrospectively. Patients with FI following pelvic radiotherapy were identified and matched (1:2) for age and sex with 38 patients implanted over the same period for FI without previous radiotherapy.

Background: There is ongoing debate regarding surgical treatment of splenic flexure cancer. The main points of controversy include the appropriate extent of colon resection, either to the right or to the left, and the appropriate extent of lymph-node dissection. The aim of this study was to review our experience in laparoscopic treatment of splenic flexure cancer cases and to compare our data to the recent literature.

Objective: The objective was to assess the efficacy and the safety of sacral nerve modulation (SNM) in men with fecal incontinence (FI) compared with those of SNM in women.
Method: Prospectively collected data from patients from seven tertiary colorectal units who underwent an implant procedure between January 2010 and December 2015 were reviewed retrospectively. Outcomes and surgical revision and definitive explantation rates were compared between men and women.

Importance: Keeping a diary for patients while they are in the intensive care unit (ICU) might reduce their posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms.
Objectives: To assess the effect of an ICU diary on the psychological consequences of an ICU hospitalization.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Assessor-blinded, multicenter, randomized clinical trial in 35 French ICUs from October 2015 to January 2017, with follow-up until July 2017.

Background: Some authors, either with anatomical studies or Doppler laser flowmetric investigations have shown the blood flow to the posterior midline of the anus to be potentially deficient. This relative local ischaemia might explain pathogenesis of anal fissure, which is often located posteriorly. The aim of this study was to record the exact position of the distal branches of the superior rectal artery during Doppler-guided haemorrhoidal artery ligation-rectoanal repair (HAL-RAR) procedures with special reference to posterior distribution of the arteries.

Background: Specific surgical and oncological outcomes in patients with rectal cancer surgery after a previous diagnosis of prostate cancer have not been well described. The aim of this study was to compare surgical outcomes in patients with rectal cancer with or without a history of prostate cancer.
Methods: Patients who had surgery for rectal cancer with (PC group) or without (no-PC group) previous curative treatment for prostate cancer were enrolled between January 2001 and December 2015.

Introduction: Respiratory tract Candida spp. colonization is associated with more frequent bacterial ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). However, this colonization could be causally related to VAP or simply reflect the immune paralysis associated with multiple organ failure.

Aim: Faecal incontinence is frequent in the elderly. Little is currently known about the efficacy of sacral nerve modulation (SNM) in the elderly. The present study aimed to assess the impact of age on the outcome of SNM and on the surgical revision and explantation rates by comparing the results of a large data set of patients.
