Introduction: Artificial Intelligences (AIs) are changing the way information is accessed and consumed globally. This study aims to evaluate the information quality provided by AIs ChatGPT4 and Claude2 concerning reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer.
Methods: Thirty questions on reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer were directed to both AIs and 16 head and neck surgeons assessed the responses using the QAMAI questionnaire.

A heart with a borderline ventricle refers to a situation where there is uncertainty about whether the left or right underdeveloped ventricle can effectively support the systemic or pulmonary circulation with appropriate filling pressures and sufficient physiological reserve. Pediatric cardiologists often deal with congenital heart diseases (CHDs) associated with various degrees of hypoplasia of the left or right ventricles. To date, no specific guidelines exist, and surgical management may be extremely variable in different centers and sometimes even in the same center at different times.

Chronic coronary syndrome (CCS), which encompasses a broad spectrum of clinical presentations of coronary artery disease (CAD), is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Recent guidelines for the management of CCS emphasize the dynamic nature of the CAD process, replacing the term "stable" with "chronic", as this disease is never truly "stable". Despite significant advances in the treatment of CAD, patients with CCS remain at an elevated risk of major cardiovascular events (MACE) due to the so-called residual cardiovascular risk.

Background: The natural history of ulcerative proctitis (UP) has been poorly investigated in children.
Aims: We aimed to compare the disease course of children with UP at diagnosis to the other locations and to identify extension predictors.
Methods: This was a multicenter, observational study carried out from data prospectively entered in the SIGENP-IBD-Registry.

Background: GD and ASMD are lysosomal storage disorders that enter into differential diagnosis due to the possible overlap in their clinical manifestations. The availability of safe and effective enzymatic therapies has recently led many investigators to develop and validate new screening tools, such as algorithms, for the diagnosis of LSDs where the lack of disease awareness or failure to implement newborn screening results in a delayed diagnosis.
Results: the proposed algorithm allows for the clinical and biochemical differentiation between GD and ASMD.

Objectives: Two limitations of the clinical use of 3-dimensional (3D) reconstruction and virtual reality systems are the relatively high cost and the amount of experience required to use hardware and software to effectively explore medical images. We have tried to simplify the process and validate a new tool developed for this purpose with a novel software package.
Methods: Five patients with right partial anomalous pulmonary venous return with adequate preoperative images acquired with magnetic resonance imaging were enrolled.

Background: Thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) is a crucial enzyme for azathioprine biotransformation and its activity is higher in very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD) patients than in adolescents with IBD (aIBD).
Aims: The aims of this pharmacoepigenetic study were to evaluate differences in peripheral blood DNA methylation of the TPMT gene and in azathioprine pharmacokinetics in patients with VEO-IBD compared to aIBD.
Methods: The association of age with whole genome DNA methylation profile was evaluated in a pilot group of patients and confirmed by a meta-analysis on 3 cohorts of patients available on the public functional genomics data repository.

The combination of oral anticoagulants (OAC) and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is the mainstay for the treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and/or undergoing PCI. However, this treatment leads to a significant increase in risk of bleeding. In most cases, according to the most recent guidelines, triple antithrombotic therapy (TAT) consisting of OAC and DAPT, typically aspirin and clopidogrel, should be limited to one week after ACS and/or PCI (default strategy).

The advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors for recurrent/metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (RM-HNSCC) has revolutionized the standard of care approach in first-line treatment. The heterogeneity of disease presentation and treatment-related toxicities can be associated with suboptimal patient compliance to oncologic care. Hence, prioritizing quality of life and well-being are crucial aspects to be considered in tailoring the best treatment choice.

COVID 19 pandemic has induced a large sedentarism in several kinds of sports. Some peculiar categories of athletes could particularly suffer from a prolonged inactivity as those affected by minimal cardiopathies as bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) athletes. This study aims to verify the myocardial performance in a restricted group of BAV athletes compared to a control group of agonistic athletes evaluated by traditional echocardiography and deformation parameters.

We aim to develop evidence-based recommendations for intensivists caring for children admitted to intensive care units and requiring analgesia and sedation. A panel of national paediatric intensivists expert in the field of analgesia and sedation and other specialists (a paediatrician, a neuropsychiatrist, a psychologist, a neurologist, a pharmacologist, an anaesthesiologist, two critical care nurses, a methodologist) started in 2018, a 2-year process. Three meetings and one electronic-based discussion were dedicated to the development of the recommendations (presentation of the project, selection of research questions, overview of text related to the research questions, discussion of recommendations).

Purpose: Our goal was to compare surgical scars assessed by a validated patient reported outcome questionnaire in children undergoing open (OP), laparoscopic (LP), or robotic-assisted (RALP) pyeloplasty. Our secondary aim was to assess the influence on the outcomes of variables such as gender or body mass index (BMI).
Materials And Methods: We conducted an observational, cross-sectional, multicentric study of patients undergoing primary pyeloplasty between age 10 and 18 years at 5 tertiary Italian institutions during the period January 2010 to December 2019.

To compare open and robotic approach for treatment of Primary Obstructive Megaureter (POM) in a series of pediatric patients. Medical records of all patients who had undergone ureteral reimplantation for POM at our institution, between January 2016 and December 2019, were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Open (Group B) and robotic (Group A) approach were compared.

Background: Imaging to be used during the workup and follow-up of patients undergoing pyeloplasty is still controversial. Present survey aimed at assessing variations in pre- and post-operative imaging between adults and paediatric specialists in patients undergoing pyeloplasty.
Methods: A survey of members of the 'Italian Society of Urology' (SIU) and the 'Italian Society of Paediatric Urology' (SIUP) was conducted using an online platform.

Background: Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction (UPJO) is the most common congenital ureteral anomaly. Nowadays, according to the increasing incidence of urolithiasis, 20% of children with UPJO presents urolithiasis. Open pyeloplasty was the standard treatment before the introduction of minimally invasive surgery (MIS).
