Concrete compressive strength is a critical parameter in construction and structural engineering. Destructive experimental methods that offer a reliable approach to obtaining this property involve time-consuming procedures. Recent advancements in artificial neural networks (ANNs) have shown promise in simplifying this task by estimating it with high accuracy.

The Black Sea is affected by numerous anthropogenic pressures, such as eutrophication and pollution through coastal and river discharges, fisheries overexploitation, species invasions, and the impacts of climate change. Growing concerns regarding the cumulative effects of these pressures have necessitated the need for an ecosystem approach to assessing the state of this basin. In recent years, the European Commission-JRC has developed a scientific and modelling tool, the Blue2 Modelling Framework with the aim of exploring the consequences of EU management and policy options on marine ecosystems.

Environmental degradation due to the rapid increase in CO₂ emissions is a pressing global challenge, necessitating innovative solutions for accurate prediction and policy development. Machine learning (ML) techniques offer a robust approach to modeling complex relationships between various factors influencing emissions. Furthermore, ML models can learn and interpret the significance of each factor's contribution to the rise of CO.

Microwave-assisted extraction conditions were optimized using response surface methodology to evaluate the effects of extraction parameters on the yield and carbohydrate content of Luffa aegyptiaca mucilage. The optimal extraction parameters were determined at 540 W for 2 min with a 1:20 (g/mL) ratio, yielding a maximum of 5.90 % (w/w) and comprising 63 % carbohydrate content, which includes glucose, galactose, maltose, mannose, and galacturonic acid, characterized by β (1 → 4) and β (1 → 6) glycosidic bonds.

Hormonal factors play an essential role as an underlying causative factor of oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OAT), and these patients can benefit from hormonal medications that modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. This review aims to outline the various medications used as hormonal therapy in treating infertile men with OAT. This manuscript focuses on essential hormonal evaluation, identifying men who would benefit from treatment, selecting the appropriate medication, determining the duration of therapy, and evaluating hormonal treatment outcomes.

Background: Brain drain refers to the migration of qualified professionals to developed countries in search of better living and working conditions, and has become a global concern, particularly in the healthcare sector. Migration of highly skilled nurses results in increased workload for the remaining nursing staff, limited access to quality healthcare services, and contributes to disparities in healthcare. Therefore, nursing students represent a critical demographic group for understanding the drivers of brain drain in the healthcare sector.

Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) approved for the treatment of asthma and allergic rhinitis, is widely used, though real-world data on its application in asthma management remain limited. This registry-based study evaluated the use of montelukast in adult asthma patients, examining demographic and disease characteristics, asthma control status, asthma phenotypes, presence of atopy, and treatment regimens. Among 2053 patients analyzed, 61.

Soil contamination with toxic heavy metals [such as aluminum (Al)] is becoming a serious global problem due to the rapid development of the social economy. Although plant growth-promoting rhizo-bacteria (PGPR) are the major protectants to alleviate metal toxicity, the study of these bacteria to ameliorate the toxic effects of Al is limited. Therefore, the present study was conducted to investigate the combined effects of different levels of (5 ppm and 10 ppm) of accession number of MT123456 on plant growth and biomass, photosynthetic pigments, gas exchange attributes, oxidative stress and response of antioxidant compounds (enzymatic and nonenzymatic), and their specific gene expression, sugars, nutritional status of the plant, organic acid exudation pattern and Al accumulation from the different parts of the plants, which was spiked with different levels of Al [0 µM (i.

Background: Androgen deprivation is associated with erectile dysfunction (ED). In different animal models, sulfur dioxide (SO) donors NaSO and NaHSO reduced oxidative stress, fibrosis, and inflammation which contribute to the pathogenesis of androgen deprivation-induced ED, however the effect of SO donors on ED in castrated rats were not known.
Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of SO donors, NaSO/NaHSO, on ED in castrated rat model.

Introduction: The neural substrates of reasoning, a cognitive ability we use constantly in daily life, are still unclear. Reasoning can be divided into two types according to how the inference process works and the certainty of the conclusions. In deductive reasoning, certain conclusions are drawn from premises by applying the rules of logic.

Recurrent lumbar disc herniation (RLDH) refers to a lumbar disc herniation (LDH) that recurs at the same level, location, and side following surgical repair. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TESI) and dorsal root ganglion pulsed radiofrequency (DRG PRF) therapy with and without caudal epidural steroid injection (CESI) for the treatment of lumbar radicular pain (LRP) associated with RLDH. This retrospective cohort study included 57 patients treated for RLDH in a hospital pain clinic between September 2022 and February 2024.

Background: Effective management of primary apical periodontitis depends on understanding the dynamic interactions within the root canal microbiome. This study aimed to investigate the effect of sequential antimicrobial phases on the root canal microbiome during a two-visit treatment approach, with a focus on calcium hydroxide medication.
Methods: Samples were collected from three teeth across four treatment phases: initial infection (S1), after chemomechanical preparation (S2), after intracanal medication (S3), and after a final flush (S4).

Background/objectives: While studies suggest that young children can learn and think about sustainability, most research has focused on children aged three to five, leaving a significant gap in understanding how to engage toddlers (one to three years of age) in early-childhood education in sustainability (ECEfS). This study aims to address this gap, a crucial and often overlooked area, by investigating preschool teachers' views of ECEfS and their daily practices for nurturing sustainability in a toddler group in a Swedish preschool.
Methods: We employed a case study approach, incorporating observations, interviews, and document analysis for data collection.

Modern workplaces increasingly use algorithmic management practices (AMPs), which shape task assignment, monitoring, and evaluation. Despite the potential benefits these practices offer, like increased efficiency and objectivity, their impact on workforce well-being (WFW) has raised concerns. Drawing on self-determination theory (SDT) and conservation of resources theory (COR), this study examines the relationship between algorithmic management practices and workforce well-being, incorporating job burnout (JBO) and perceived threat (PT) as parallel mediators and person-job fit (PJF) as a moderator.
