In this work, Zn-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate metal-organic framework was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal process and used in dispersive micro solid phase extraction of some pesticide from various fruit juice and water samples. Seven widely consumed pesticides in agriculture (chlorpyrifos, haloxyfop--methyl, oxadiazon, diniconazole, clodinafop-propargyl, fenpropathrin, and fenaxoprop--ethyl) were selected as target analytes. In this work, dispersive micro solid phase extraction was followed by a liquid phase microextraction method to achieve more enrichment of the analytes, and the enriched analytes were quantified using a gas chromatography-flame ionization detector.

Objective: Femoral access site complications (ASC) are frequent yet significant conditions associated with percutaneous intervention procedures that affect patient-physician comfort. In this study, we compared ASC rates between patients who received compression with a sandbag, the standard practice in many clinics, and patients monitored solely with bedrest without sandbag compression.

Methods: This study included patients undergoing any transfemoral percutaneous intervention (mostly coronary interventions) between April 2019 and May 2023 at our clinic.

  • Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) help lower blood glucose and sodium levels by promoting their excretion in urine, leading to benefits like reduced heart failure (HF) hospitalizations in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and cardiovascular (CV) risks.
  • Clinical trials like DAPA-HF and EMPEROR-Reduced demonstrate that SGLT2i medications (dapagliflozin and empagliflozin) significantly reduce CV mortality and HF hospitalizations in heart failure patients, whether they have T2DM or not.
  • Recent studies, including EMPEROR-Preserved and DELIVER, also support the effectiveness of SGLT2is in treating heart

  • The study aimed to determine if patients who underwent percutaneous liver mass biopsy (PLMB) could be safely discharged after a two-hour monitoring period.
  • It involved 375 patients and found that minor complications occurred in 18.93% and major complications in 2.13%, mostly within the first two hours.
  • The conclusion indicated that the two-hour monitoring is sufficient for identifying most complications, suggesting that longer monitoring does not significantly enhance patient care.

The development of new and efficient adsorbents for dispersive solid-phase extraction method, particularly prior to chromatography analysis, is increasing. In particular, this method is recommended for use before biological sample analysis. In this work, a new composite was prepared from mesoporous carbon nitrides and carbon nano-onions and was utilized for the extraction of tacrolimus and everolimus from plasma samples prior to high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis.
