A cobalt-based metal-organic framework and graphene oxide were combined to prepare a new nanocomposite for extracting of caffeine from exhaled breath condensate (EBC) samples. Dispersive micro solid phase extraction of caffeine was conducted using the nanocomposite as a sorbent by adding 10 mg of it to the sample solution and vortexing for 3 min. After extracting of the analyte, it was eluted using the mobile phase.

Background: In total hip arthroplasty (THA), even if there is a dislocated hip, restoring the anatomical center of rotation increases long-term survival and hip function. Even with a shortening osteotomy, the procedure is still challenging due to soft-tissue tension. Therefore, soft tissue releases such as iliopsoas tenotomy may be necessary.

  • The study investigates the safety of omitting axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) in patients with residual axillary disease after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), focusing on those treated with sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) or targeted axillary dissection (TAD).
  • An analysis of two multicenter cohorts (MF18-02 and MF18-03) included 501 patients who received regional nodal irradiation and achieved a complete clinical response to NAC.
  • Results showed low recurrence rates (0.4% axillary, 0.8% locoregional) and no significant differences in disease-free or disease-specific survival between SLNB and TAD, suggesting ALND omission is safe if patients receive

Article Synopsis
  • - This study evaluated the effects of different polishing systems on color stability, surface roughness, and gloss of various resin composites used in dental applications, involving 250 prepared specimens.
  • - After initial measurements, the specimens underwent polishing with different systems followed by immersion in coffee for 144 hours, with results analyzed to determine changes in color (ΔE), gloss (GU), and surface roughness (Ra).
  • - Significant differences were observed in color changes among materials and polishing systems, with the Crowntec composite showing the least color change and the OptiDisc group achieving the lowest surface roughness, suggesting that one polishing method alone may not provide the best outcomes for resin-based materials.

This paper introduces a novel high-voltage gain topology for a solid-state transformer, integrating a DC-DC converter and dual active bridge converters. The proposed design features three DC links operating at different voltage levels. The first DC link connects to a single-switch high step-up DC-DC converter, while the second DC link interfaces with an AC source via a rectifier, allowing the use of both DC and AC inputs.

Non-septic shock is a serious condition leading to multiple organ dysfunction. Although targeting the mammalian target of the rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1) signaling pathway exerts potent anti-inflammatory activity, little is known about mTORC2's contribution to non-septic shock. Thus, our research aims to investigate mTORC2's contribution and associated changes of IκB kinase (IKKα)/inhibitor κB (IκB-α)/nuclear factor-ĸB (NF-κB) pathway on Zymosan (ZYM)-induced non-septic rat model using the novel mTORC2 selective inhibitor JR-AB2-011.
