Background: To comprehensively investigate early and late outcomes for all valve replacement surgery patients in a non-referral regional hospital database and to compare these results with the literature.

Methods: This was a retrospective study and made up of patients undergoing heart valve replacement in the cardiovascular department of a non-referral regional hospital between May 2008 and February 2018. Inclusion criteria were aortic, mitral and double valve replacement with or without CABG.

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a key endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC) in the manufacturing industry. It is found in the structure of compounds such as polycarbonate and epoxy in combination with other chemicals. Our objective was to investigate the effect of BPA on rat ovaries.

Calcium phosphate product level as a predictor for arteriovenous fistula re-operations in patients with chronic renal failure.

Objectives: There is an increased calcium phosphate product level causing the formation of calcification in the arterial wall and thus decreased quality of fistula in patients with chronic renal failure. The purpose of our study is to verify the relationship between arteriovenous fistula re-operation and high calcium phosphate product level.

Methods: Seventy-nine consecutive patients with chronic renal failure between April 2016 and February 2018 were included in the study.
