To date numerous measurements of radiological angles related to the calcaneus have been proposed to differentiate between symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with the deformity. Traditionally, these measurements have been assessed on plain radiographs.

Rare but Still There: An Interesting Case of Cytokeratin 20-Negative Merkel Cell Carcinoma.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) of the skin is a rare and aggressive primary neuroendocrine tumor that mainly involves sun-exposed areas and can metastasize to other parts of the body. Due to varied clinical features and the sharing of similar histological features with other neuroendocrine tumors, diagnosis can be challenging. Therefore, immunohistochemistry plays an important role in diagnosis, and the characteristic perinuclear staining with cytokeratin 20 (CK 20) helps to differentiate it from other morphologically similar tumors, especially metastatic small cell carcinoma of the lung.

Background: Type 2 diabetes in young people is an aggressive disease with a greater risk of complications leading to increased morbidity and mortality during the most productive years of life. Prevalence in the UK and globally is rising yet experience in managing this condition is limited. There are no consensus guidelines in the UK for the assessment and management of paediatric type 2 diabetes.

Introduction: Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is a primary lymphocytic cicatricial alopecia that represents a form of follicular lichen planus.

Case Presentation: We describe a case of coexisting diffuse LPP and female pattern hair loss masquerading as diffuse alopecia areata in a 32-year-old female.

Discussion: In complex cases such as this, dermoscopy-guided vertical and horizontal biopsies from androgen sensitive and insensitive areas are helpful in increasing diagnostic yield.

Leg Lymphoedema After Inguinal and Ilio-Inguinal Lymphadenectomy for Melanoma: Results from a Prospective, Randomised Trial.

Background: The Evaluation of Groin Lymphadenectomy Extent for Melanoma (EAGLE FM) study sought to address the question of whether to perform inguinal (IL) or ilio-inguinal lymphadenectomy (I-IL) for patients with inguinal nodal metastatic melanoma who have no clinical or imaging evidence of pelvic disease. Primary outcome measure was disease-free survival at 5 years, and secondary endpoints included lymphoedema.

Methods: EAGLE FM was designed to recruit 634 patients but closed with 88 patients randomised because of slow recruitment and changes in melanoma management.

Their genetic ancestry can be modeled as a mixture of sources from ancient Anatolia, Levant, and Iran/Caucasus, with variation between individuals suggesting population heterogeneity in Bahrain before the onset of Islam.

Objective: To report the incidence of indeterminate pulmonary nodules (IPN) and the rate of progression of IPNs to metastasis in patients with primary bone cancers.
