Background: The Neuroform Atlas Stent System is an established treatment modality for unruptured anterior and posterior circulation intracranial aneurysms. Location-specific results are needed to guide treatment decision-making. However, it is unclear whether there are differences in safety and efficacy outcomes between carotid and more distal anterior circulation aneurysms.

Safe Sex After Total Hip Arthroplasty: Using Computed Tomography-Based Robotics to Evaluate "At-Risk" Sexual Positions.

Background: Total hip arthroplasty (THA) can improve sexual satisfaction, but fear of dislocation can lead to sexual difficulties following this procedure. Previous kinematic research identified 4 sexual positions in women and 2 in men that were considered at risk for impingement. This study aimed to validate these findings using current robotic THA simulations.

Impact of systemic lupus erythematosus on in-hospital outcomes of peripheral artery disease-insight from the National Inpatient Sample database.

Chronic inflammatory disorders like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and rheumatoid arthritis are associated with worse outcomes in ischemic heart disease. However, there is a paucity of data regarding outcomes in patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) with concomitant SLE. The purpose of this study was to compare clinical features and in-hospital outcomes of PAD in patients with and without SLE from the general population using the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project National Inpatient Sample database.

Role of point-of-care arterial blood potassium in diagnosing pseudohyperkalemia.

Hyperkalemia is a life-threatening emergency, but it needs to be differentiated from pseudohyperkalemia to avoid unnecessary treatment. We present a case of pseudohyperkalemia in a chronic lymphocytic leukemia patient with severe leukocytosis, highlighting the role of point-of-care potassium. Laboratory workup showed persistent hyperkalemia on analysis of venous blood samples even after treatment for hyperkalemia.

Targeted Muscle Reinnervation for Trauma-Related Amputees: A Systematic Review.

While amputation techniques have improved over time, questions remain around how to best treat neuromas and severed nerves in the amputee population, specifically for trauma-related amputees. This systematic review investigates and summarizes outcomes following targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) for the trauma-related amputee population. Studies were classified based on primary or secondary TMR and relevant outcomes, including the ability to use a prosthesis, post-TMR opioid use, Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) scores for phantom limb pain and residual limb pain, and overall pain resolution/reduction.

Comparison of In-Hospital Outcomes After Insertion of Watchman Device in Men Versus Women (from the National Inpatient Data).

Left atrial appendage occlusion with the Watchman device is approved to manage nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and prevent stroke in patients with contraindications to anticoagulation. This study aimed to analyze the National Inpatient Sample (NIS) data to evaluate gender disparities and further assess its impact on medical decision-making. The NIS data for 16,505 patients who underwent left atrial appendage occlusion with the Watchman device from 2016 to 2017 was used to perform a cross-sectional analysis.

Osteoid Osteoma of the Coracoid Process Presenting as Adhesive Capsulitis in a 10-Year-Old Male: A Case Report.

A 10-year-old male presented with symptoms in his right shoulder indicative of adhesive capsulitis. Radiographic films did not demonstrate any osseous abnormalities. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated the presence of an eccentric lesion within the coracoid process consistent with an osteoid osteoma.

A CABG Complication - LIMA Graft to Cardiac Venous System Anastomosis Rescued by Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

Inadvertent graft anastomosis to the great anterior cardiac vein is a known but rare complication of coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). This is usually managed with percutaneous embolization of the inadvertently anastomosed graft with stenting of underlying atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD) or by surgical correction. We present a similar case of the inadvertent left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft anastomosis to the cardiac venous system, managed with the less complicated percutaneous coronary intervention of the underlying coronary artery disease due to anginal symptoms without the need for surgical correction or embolization of the graft.

Duration of symptomatic stroke and successful reperfusion with endovascular thrombectomy for anterior circulation large vessel occlusive stroke.

Background: It has been reported that longer time intervals from stroke onset to endovascular therapy are associated with lower rates of successful reperfusion in acute ischemic stroke patients with large vessel occlusion. However, procedural variables and potential mechanisms of this association have not been fully elucidated.

Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of individual patient data from the North American Solitaire Stent Retriever Acute Stroke (NASA) and Trevo Stent-Retriever Acute Stroke (TRACK) registries.
