Background: Chronic Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is associated with progressive liver inflammation which in turn leads to cirrhosis and finally causes hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). By different escape mechanisms, the virus succeeds to evade the innate and acquired immune responses to establish chronic infection.

Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the level of chemokine CXCL9 and its correlation with some biochemical parameters in different subjects of HCV patients.

This in-vitro study aimed to assess in 120 [40 community-acquired (CA-MRSA) & 80 hospital-acquired (HA-MRSA)] isolates from cancer patients whether the transmissible staphylococcal cassette chromosome (SCC) typing, and the Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) virulence genes detection could be employed as tools for molecular diagnostic purposes to distinguish both methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) categories in radiotherapy treated cancer patients. SCC typing was determined by the combination of the type of the cassette chromosome recombinase genes () gene complex and the class of the methicillin resistance () gene complex. Besides, a rapid slide latex agglutination test (LAT) and antibiotic resistance spectrum determination before and after irradiation were performed.

Department of Economic Entomology and Agriculuture Zoology, Faculty of Agriculture, Menufia University, Shebin El-Kom, Egypt.

The present study was performed to elucidate the efficacy of Apis mellifera L bee venom (BV) or proplis (200 mg/kg orally for three consecutive days) on Schistosoma mansoni infected mice. The results recorded reduction in the total worm burden, numbers of immature eggs and the ova count in hepatic tissue in BV (sting or injection) or proplis treated groups as compared to the infected group. Histological examination illustrated a significant increase (P ≤ 0.

Persistent ductal patency may have serious effects in preterm infants. Analysis of the results of different trials were inconclusive in determining whether medical or surgical closure of the ductus is preferable and what is the best timing for surgical intervention. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of timing of surgical closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) on ventilatory, hemodynamic, and nutritional status of preterm infants.

Cytokines play critical roles in the pathogenesis of Behçet's disease (BD). They mediated many of the effectors and regulatory functions of immune and inflammatory responses. Many studies have linked Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and Interleukin-10 (IL-10) pathologically to BD.
