Objective: Restoring large boney defects using bone grafts alone is an unpredictable procedure. Biodegradable polymeric scaffolds suffer rapid biodegradation and lack sufficient osteo-conductivity. The aim of this study was to histomorphometrically evaluate three-dimensional printed graphene oxide-enriched poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) scaffolds for bone regeneration in a rabbit defect model using two different concentrations of graphene oxide.

Purpose: Retrospective comparative study of the efficacy of extravesical non-dismembered common sheath ureteral reimplantation (ECSR) versus intravesical common sheath ureteral reimplantation (ICSR) techniques for the correction of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in complete duplex systems.
Material And Methods: Between 2010 and 2019, ECSR was performed in 38 children (8 bilaterally), and the mean ages at presentation and at surgery were 31 and 57 months, respectively. The ICSR technique was performed in 25 units (25 patients).

Purpose: Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) can achieve highly satisfying symptomatic and functional outcomes but the loss of antegrade ejaculation represents a major reason for the avoidance of surgical treatment to preserve normal ejaculation and paternity. We present a novel technique to duplicate both bladder neck sparing and supramontanal sparing with resection of apical tissues to improve voiding and antegrade ejaculation.
Methods: A prospective study done from June 2018 to June 2020 on 60 consecutive male patients with normal sexual activity diagnosed with benign prostatic enlargement.

Nephronophthisis (NPHP) is one of the renal ciliopathies and is also a cystic renal disorder with an autosomal recessive inheritance, which usually progresses to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). It affects children, adolescents, and young adults. In approximately 15% of cases, the features of a ciliopathy syndrome, which include liver fibrosis, skeletal anomalies, retinal abnormalities, and neurodevelopmental delay, will be present.

Aim: To compare the clinical outcomes of the standard corneal cross linking (CXL) and the accelerated CXL in patients with progressive corneal ectasia post refractive surgery and penetrating keratoplasty.
Methods: Totally 120 eyes of 83 patients scheduled to receive either standard CXL (3 mW/cm for a period of 30min) or accelerated CXL (18 mW/cm for a period of 5min). The main outcomes for comparison were the change in: maximum-K reading (K-max), manifest refractive spherical equivalent (SE), central corneal thickness (CCT), and the best corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA).

Background: Reconstruction of combined segmental and cavitary defects of the acetabulum is a challenge to the hip surgeon. One question regards the efficacy of reconstruction of acetabular defects using a combination of tantalum metal augments (TMAs) and impaction graft in single-stage revision for periprosthetic infection.
Materials And Methods: In the period between July 2009 and August 2014, 24 patients with combined segmental and cavitary acetabular defects and Paprosky classification grade IIB, IIC, and IIIA had hips reconstructed using the combination of TMAs and antibiotic-loaded impaction grafting.

Objective: Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a multisystemic genetic disease in which patients develop benign tumors including optic nerve gliomas (ONG). Optic nerve thickening and tortuosity are radiologic markers of tumors but can also be present in children with NF1 who do not have gliomas, thus complicating screening and diagnosis. We undertook this study to retrospectively determine quantitative and qualitative diagnostic criteria using MRI of the orbits for ONG in children with NF1.

Background And Purpose: Critical illness polyneuropathy and myopathy (CIP/CIM) is being increasingly recognized as a significant clinical problem in critically ill children especially if they have spent long periods in the intensive care unit. So the aim was to determine the frequency of CIP/CIM amongst mechanically ventilated children and to analyse the associated risk factors and drawbacks frequently encountered in this cohort.
Methods: The study included 105 patients admitted to the paediatric intensive care unit who underwent mechanical ventilation for ≥7 days.
