Localized orbital amyloidosis is a rare clinical entity. Periocular and orbital amyloid deposits are mainly located at the lacrimal apparatus, eyelid, conjunctiva, ocular adnexa, extraocular muscles, and levator palpebrae muscle. In this article, the authors report an unusual case of optic nerve amyloid deposition in an 82-year-old African American woman who presented with vertical diplopia.

This case study presents the first demonstration of FAPI ligand uptake in a patient with optic nerve sheath meningioma. The patient, a 23-year-old woman who had previously undergone surgery for refractory optic meningioma, was referred to our department for 177Lu-DOTATATE therapy. After 3 cycles of 177Lu-DOTATATE administration, her proptosis significantly decreased.

Background: Skull base meningiomas are intricately related to neuro-ophthalmic functions and have been related to direct influences on both the afferent and efferent visual pathways due to close contacts with crucial neurovascular structures. The present article reviews the neuro-ophthalmic presentations of these tumors, necessitating the need for precise anatomic information for the delivery of customized diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Methods: A literature review was conducted using PubMed and Scopus, focusing on terms related to skull base meningiomas and their neuro-ophthalmic impacts.

Meningiomas are benign tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) that usually result in compression to adjacent structures and rarely cause pathology on their own. Meningiomas can affect the visual pathways originating from perineural or optic nerve sheath meningioma (ONSM), sellar, or clinoid, to the frontal-temporal-parietal-occipital lobes. Frontal meningiomas have an indolent presentation with frequent behavioral changes (i.

Objective: To identify factors for tumor relapse and poor outcome in patients with meningiomas in the first two decades of life.
Methods: All patients ≤ 21 years of age who underwent resection of a meningioma at the department of neurosurgery, Medical University of Vienna between 1989 and 2022 were included in this retrospective study. Clinical and radiological data were extracted from the medical records.

Optic neuropathies include a wide range of disorders from ischemic, toxic, demyelinating, or inflammatory processes with acute/subacute onset to more gradual compressive or genetic etiologies. Accurate clinical history and multimodality optic nerve imaging including MRI and optical coherence tomography have greatly improved the diagnosis of patients with optic neuropathies. We report a case of a woman with severe monocular visual acuity deficit.

Purpose: We aimed to develop and investigate positional reproducibility using a fixation device (Unity Brain tumor Immobilization Device [UBID]) in patients with brain tumor undergoing magnetic resonance (MR)-guided radiation therapy (RT) with a 1.5 Tesla (T) MR-linear accelerator (MR-LINAC) to evaluate its feasibility in clinical practice and report representative cases of patients with central nervous system (CNS) tumor.
Materials And Methods: Quantitative analysis was performed by comparing images obtained by placing only the MR phantom on the couch with those obtained by placing UBID next to the MR phantom.

Purpose: The variations in the diameter of the optic nerve (ON) are important clinically in the diagnosis of conditions associated with the ON such as raised intracranial pressure, meningioma, optic neuritis, and Grave's orbitopathy. This study determined the normal diameters of the ON in adult Nigerians seen in a Hospital in Delta State.
Methods: Axial T1-weighted brain magnetic resonance imaging images of 150 patients (75 males and 75 females) aged ≥20 years were retrieved from the hospital's radiological database and retrospectively used to evaluate the diameter of the ON on axial and coronal sections.

Objective: Our primary objective is to evaluate the local control of optic nerve sheath meningiomas (ONSMs) treated with ionizing radiation and related visual changes after treatment. Our secondary objective is to describe the clinical characteristics and perform an analysis of the treatment impact on the functional status of this group of patients.
Methods: We present our series of 19 patients treated with ionizing radiation therapy at our radio-neurosurgery unit between 2016 and 2022.

Purpose: The optic nerve sheath meningioma (ONSM) is one of the most challenging tumors in orbital surgery. From the perspective of mental health and patient needs, we analyzed the necessity and importance of the endoscopic transnasal approach (ETA) combined with optic nerve transection (ONT) in gross-total resection (GTR) in ONSM patients with residual vision and aim to broaden the use of ONT for specific people.
Methods: The authors included patients with ONSMs who were treated between 2014 and 2022.

Background: Optic nerve sheath meningiomas (ONSM) are rare tumors potentially causing visual deficits. This study aims to report the anatomic and visual outcomes of patients with primary ONSM treated with hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (HF-SRT).
Methods: Data of 36 patients treated with HF-SRT between 2008 and 2019 were retrospectively collected.

Optic nerve haemangioblastoma (ONH) is an uncommon, benign, non-meningothelial, mesenchymal tumour of unclear origin. Most are associated with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome (71%), and only 40 cases have been reported in the medical literature. Most of the patients develop non-specific visual symptoms, including decreased visual acuity and/or loss of visual fields, exophthalmos, trigeminal neuralgia, and retroorbital pain.

An abnormal enlargement of the air-filled paranasal sinuses is referred to as pneumosinus dilatans. Typically discovered incidentally through radiological examinations, it infrequently manifests as cosmetic, neurological, ocular, or rhinological pathologies. Thorough evaluation for associated conditions is essential in patients with pneumosinus dilatans, including meningiomas of the anterior skull base or the optic nerve sheath.

Background: Optic nerve sheath meningioma (ONSM) is a rare optic nerve cancer with considerable morbidity. This national analysis validates previously known ONSM concepts while providing insight into novel risk factors.
Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program was queried from 2000 to 2019 for all histologic subtypes of meningioma primary to the optic nerve.

Background: Meningiomas arising from or adjacent to the optic nerve sheath meningioma (ONSM) are management challenges because of their risk of visual loss. Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a minimally invasive modality that can be added as adjuvant treatment for patients whose tumor has progressed or recurred after initial resection.
Methods: The authors retrospectively reviewed 2,030 meningioma patients who underwent SRS between 1987 and 2022.
