Objectives: Surgical treatments for Ménière's disease differ in efficacy. Endolymphatic duct blockage (EDB) is favored for its minimal risk and ability to preserve hearing. One of the main challenges in the technique is the difficulty in accurately identifying the endolymphatic duct (ED).

Purpose: This study aims to investigate whether artificial intelligence can improve the diagnostic accuracy of vertigo related diseases.
Experimental Design: Based on the clinical guidelines, clinical symptoms and laboratory test results were extracted from electronic medical records as variables. These variables were then input into a machine learning diagnostic model for classification and diagnosis.

Introduction: The most common histopathological finding in Ménière's disease (MD) is endolymphatic hydrops (EH), which involves the dilation of the membranous labyrinth. The direct relationship between EH and MD is debated, although EH plays a crucial role in auditory and vestibular functional tests. MRI sequences such as 3D-FLAIR and 3D-real-IR are used to study EH, with the latter being more effective.

: Skull vibration-induced nystagmus (SVIN) has become a validated tool for evaluating the vestibular function. The presence of SVIN is a useful indicator of the asymmetry of vestibular function between the two ears. In unilateral vestibular loss, a 100 Hz bone-conducted vibration given to either mastoid immediately causes a primarily horizontal nystagmus.

Multiple dehiscences of the otic capsule can exhibit behavior similar to Ménière's disease, not only from a clinical perspective but also in the results of audiovestibular tests. The main objective of this study is to characterize third mobile window etiologies from an audiovestibular perspective, while also evaluating the therapeutic response to four different treatment protocols. Furthermore, we aim to explore a potential association with the development of radiologically defined endolymphatic hydrops (EH).

Objective: Structural features of the human cochlea may control early lesion formation in endolymphatic hydrops. This process may hinge on three structural features: the flattened spiral shape of the human cochlea, the toroidal configuration of the distended cochlea duct, and the distensibility characteristics of Reissner's membrane. An analytical method is presented to assess the variation in hydropic distention that may occur in the several turns of the cochlea due to these structural features.

Objective: To investigate alterations in the expression of circadian clock and Toll-like receptor (TLR) genes in peripheral blood (PB) leukocytes of patients with Meniere's disease (MD) and vestibular migraine (VM), and determine whether these gene expressions can differentiate MD from VM.
Study Design: Observational prospective study.
Setting: Tertiary academic medical center.

The living human inner ear is challenging to study because it is encased within dense otic capsule bone that limits access to biological tissue. Traditional temporal bone histopathology methods rely on lengthy, expensive decalcification protocols that take 9-10 months and reduce the types of tissue analysis possible due to RNA degradation. There is a critical need to develop methods to access fresh human inner ear tissue to better understand otologic diseases, such as Ménière's disease, at the cellular and molecular level.

Purpose: To examine alterations in Blood Oxygen Level-Dependent (BOLD) resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) signals, utilizing regional homogeneity (ReHo) and fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF) metrics, within activated brain regions. Additionally, this study aims to explore the relationship between these neural changes and clinical characteristics, as well as emotional states, in patients diagnosed with unilateral Meniere's disease (MD).
Method: The study included 24 patients diagnosed with left Meniere's disease (L-MD), 25 patients diagnosed with right Meniere's disease (R-MD), and 23 healthy control subjects.

Objective: To review recent advances in genetic diagnosis of sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) using gene panels, exome, and genome sequencing.
Design: A scoping review. Articles published from January 2022 to May 2024 on gene panels, exome, or genome sequencing for early SNHL diagnosis were reviewed.

Introduction: Triple semicircular canal plugging is effective in controlling vertigo in patients with Meniere's disease, however, whether the rate of causing hearing loss during treatment is still not uniform. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Triple semicircular canal plugging (TSCP) on hearing in Meniere's disease (MD) patients.
Methods: Databases Reviewed were PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Clinical Trials, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP.

Objectives: The first purpose of this study was to ascertain the distribution of unilateral Ménière's disease (MD) clinical subgroups in China and compare with the population reported in Europe and the United States. The second purpose was to investigate the effectiveness in different clinical phenotypes.
Methods: Participants were categorised into one of five subtypes using a previously reported classification scheme based on cluster analysis.

Vestibular syncope is a rare condition in which vertigo may cause syncopal attacks; however, the term has been associated with confusion because it has been ascribed to completely different vestibular and neurological conditions, from dizziness to Menière disease (MD), to the neurovegetative symptoms in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and central vertebrobasilar hyperfusion. A 75-year-old woman with vasodepressive vasovagal syncope, confirmed by a tilt test with trinitrine administration, was referred for an audiological and vestibular assessment showing an acute unilateral peripheral vestibular deficit on the right side. The diagnosis is peripheral acute vestibular deficits.

Ecchordosis physaliphora (EP) is a benign notochordal remnant most commonly encountered in the skull base. In opposition to typical cases of its invasive counterpart, that is, chordoma, EP does not show T1-enhancement. Now, we describe three patients with EP, discovered on delayed contrast-enhanced 3D FLAIR performed for endolymphatic hydrops imaging in suspected Menière's disease.

: It is known that balance disorders involve occupational hazards. However, the inverse relationship (between certain occupations and an increased incidence of vertigo or dizziness) has been scarcely studied. The objective of this work was to analyze the occupation of a group of patients with vertigo compared to the economically active general population and to evaluate the prevalence of occupational noise and/or vibration exposure in both groups.

Objective: To use animal pharmacokinetic data and FluidSIM modeling to estimate human dexamethasone perilymph concentrations from plasma concentration measurements over time following a single intratympanic administration of SPT-2101.
Study Design: Perilymph and plasma dexamethasone concentrations were measured in guinea pigs and African green monkeys over 3 to 6 weeks post-intratympanic administration of SPT-2101. Plasma concentrations of dexamethasone were measured in Ménière's disease patients post-intratympanic administration of SPT-2101.

Background/objectives: An air-bone gap (ABG) on audiometry is usually secondary to a conductive hearing loss. However, persistent and repeatable ABGs on audiometry in the absence of external or middle ear pathology is thought to arise from inner ear disorders including Meniere's Disease (MD). In this paper, we aim to showcase this interesting finding occurring in MD with an associated literature review.
