Methods: Medical recordings of 93 patients with MB and appropriate age, compared to 78 sex-matched healthy subjects were analyzed.

P-wave dispersion: What we know till now?

P-wave dispersion is defined as the difference between the maximum and the minimum P-wave duration recorded from multiple different-surface ECG leads. It has been known that increased P-wave duration and P-wave dispersion reflect prolongation of intraatrial and interatrial conduction time and the inhomogeneous propagation of sinus impulses, which are well-known electrophysiologic characteristics in patients with atrial arrhythmias and especially paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Extensive clinical evaluation of P-wave dispersion has been performed in the assessment of the risk for atrial fibrillation in patients without apparent heart disease, in hypertensives, in patients with coronary artery disease, in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery, in patients with congenital heart diseases, as well as in other groups of patients suffering from various cardiac or non-cardiac diseases.

Material And Methods: The prospective study consisted of 97 patients with RCC (Group 1) and 80 age and sex matched healthy volunteers (Group 2). Group 1 and 2 were compared concerning serum mean total oxidant status (TOS), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), paraoxonase-1 (PON-1), arylesterase, total thiol, catalase (CAT), myeloperoxidase (MPO) and ceruloplasmin.

Objective: Articular penetration of K-wires is a possible complication of the modified tension band wiring technique. However, there is no clear information or evidence regarding the entry point or introduction angle for K-wires to avoid this complication. The aim of this experimental study was to evaluate the effect of varying K-wire insertion points and angles on the risk for articular penetration during modified tension band wiring for olecranon fractures.

Anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene expression in small round cell tumors of childhood--a comparative ımmunohistochemical study.

The focus of this study was to investigate anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) expression by immunohistochemistry using a highly specific antibody. Distribution and frequency of ALK expression may provide a clue for ALK inhibitor use in small round cell tumors of childhood. The study group involved 76 small round cell tumors of childhood, which composed of 11 rhabdomyosarcomas, 13 Wilms tumors, 7 Ewing sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumors, 34 peripheral neuroblastic tumors, and 11 acute lymphoblastic lymphoma.
