In general, in cases of bilateral primary pneumothorax, videoassisted thoracoscopic surgery procedures are performed sequentially on both sides. However, there are only a few reported cases of bullectomy through video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery using a transmediastinal approach for bilateral primary spontaneous pneumothorax. Background: This study aims to evaluate the effect of mitomycin-C applied through different drug administration approaches on the development of granulation tissue in the field of surgery and renal functions in rats which underwent tracheal surgery.
Methods: Fifty male adult Sprague Dawley rats (weighing mean 200 g to 300 g) were divided into five groups. An incision was performed between the fifth and sixth cartilage ring of the trachea in all groups under anesthesia and the incision was primarily repaired with a 6/0 monofilament absorbable suture.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of intra-articular hyaluronic acid (HA) injections after arthroscopic debridement on pain and functional parameters in patients with mild-to-moderate knee osteoarthritis.
Methods: Sixty-seven patients (21 men, 46 women; mean age 56 years; range 40 to 65 years) who underwent standard arthroscopic debridement for primary knee osteoarthritis of Kellgren-Lawrence grade II-III were randomly assigned to HA injections (n=33) or to only follow-up as controls (n=34). Intra-articular sodium hyaluronate injections (Orthovisc) were started three weeks after arthroscopic debridement, totaling three injections interspersed with a week.

Background: We planned this study to evaluate trauma cases secondary to bicycle driving in childhood and to draw attention to the importance of the regulation of traffic rules, the education of bicycle drivers, and the importance of helmet usage.
Methods: Data in this study were obtained by retrospective review of the files of trauma cases admitted to the Pediatric Emergency Unit of Trakya University Medical Faculty between January 2003 and August 2005. Objectives: We investigated the beneficial effect of magnesium in the prevention of noise-induced cochlear damage in guinea pigs by transient evoked otoacoustic emissions (TEOAE).
Study Design: Thirty-nine guinea pigs with normal auropalpebral reflex were randomly divided into control (n=20) and study (n=19) groups. All the animals were subjected to wide-band noise standardized at a mean of 98+/-2 dB for 16 hours a day for 10 days in a sound isolated cabin.

Methods: Fifty volunteers (25 girls, 25 boys; mean age 14 years; range 13 to 15 years) who were found to have healthy feet according to the AOFAS (American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) clinical rating system for the ankle and foot were enrolled into the study. Plantar pressures were measured during standing and walking tasks with the use of the Mini-Emed pedobarographic device.
