Objectives: In this study, we evaluated the patients, who underwent nasal reconstruction with local nasal or regional flaps and compared our approach with the algorithms of nasal reconstruction in literature.
Patients And Methods: Twenty-seven patients (15 males, 12 females; mean age 68.7 years; range 42 to 86 years) who underwent nasal reconstruction with local nasal or regional flaps due to excision of skin cancers on the nose, between November 2007 and December 2009 were included in this study.

Objectives: Paraoxonase (PON1) is a high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-associated esterase that hydrolyses lipoperoxides. PON1 serves as a protective factor against oxidative modification of LDL, suggesting that it may play an important role in the prevention of atherosclerotic process. Research has focused on two polymorphisms: leucine (L allele) to methionine (M allele) substitution at codon 55, and glutamine (A allele) to arginine (B allele) substitution at codon 192.

Objectives: The importance of proprioception in the etiology, treatment, and prevention of sports injuries and joint diseases has become increasingly clear. The purpose of this study was to investigate knee proprioception in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS).
Methods: The study included 28 patients (18 females, 10 males; mean age 28 years; range 16 to 48 years) with a clinical diagnosis of unilateral PFPS and 27 normal volunteers (13 females, 14 males; mean age 26 years; range 19 to 32 years) without any complaint related to the knee.

We report a case with a late diagnosis of posttraumatic lateral abdominal wall hematoma. The patient was admitted with a giant hematoma presenting with pleural effusion, anemia and weight loss on postoperative 30th day after a blunt trauma. Computerized tomography analysis revealed a hematoma extending from axilla to the gluteus.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the oncological outcome and postoperative course, mortality, morbidity, and functional results of supracricoid laryngectomy (SCL).
Patients And Methods: The study included 15 consecutive patients who underwent SCL for primary laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and had a follow-up period of more than two years. Unilateral arytenoidectomy was required in seven of the SCLs.

Objectives: We evaluated the long-term results of treatment with curettage followed by an autograft or allograft application in patients with enchondroma of the hand.
Methods: Within a 15-year period, 76 patients (41 males, 35 females; mean age 32 years; range 14 to 47 years) were operated on for enchondroma of the hand. Following curettage of the lesion, reconstruction of the defect was made either by an autograft obtained from the iliac crest (n=76) or by a dehydrated cancellous allograft (n=15).

Several etiologic factors have been proposed in the development of meningiomas, including trauma, radiation, oncogenic viruses, chromosomal abnormalities, and hormonal factors. We presented a 71-year-old female patient who had undergone an operation for a head trauma 27 years ago. Brain computed tomography scans showed a contrast-enhancing intracranial mass lesion, 5 x 4 x 4 cm in size, leading to diffuse edema in the left frontal region.

Objectives: Giant-cell tumors of the tendon sheath localized in the hand or wrist were retrospectively reviewed with respect to diagnosis, surgical treatment, and postoperative complications.
Methods: During a 21-year period, a total of 141 patients (83 females, 58 males; mean age 37.5 years; range 6 to 77 years) underwent surgery for 146 lesions that developed in the hand (n=134) or the wrist (n=12).

Objectives: We evaluated the preliminary results of oblique and lateral closing-wedge high tibial osteotomy for medial compartment osteoarthritis of the knee.
Methods: Thirty-nine patients (29 women, 10 men; mean age 53 years; range 34 to 64 years) underwent oblique and lateral closing-wedge high tibial osteotomy followed by tension band plate fixation. According to the Ahlback system, seven patients had grade II, 27 patients had grade III, and five patients had grade IV osteoarthritis.
