Comparison of three different scoring systems in predicting success of retrograde intrarenal surgery in kidney stones larger than 20 millimeters.

Purpose: To evaluate stone free rate (SFR) predictivity of three different scoring systems in patients with kidney stones larger than 20 millimeters undergoing retrograde intrarenal surgery(RİRS).

Methods: Digital records of a total of 166 patients were reviewed retrospectively. Epidemiological characteristics (age, gender, medical history) of the patients, stone and affected kidney characteristics (size, volume, location, density, opaque, presence of urinary system anomaly, presence of stones in different calyx, number of stones, lower pole stone, renal infundibulopelvic angle (IPA), renal infundibulopelvic length (RIL), hydronephrosis), and operative characteristics (preoperative ureteral stent, operation duration, postoperative residual fragments, hospitalization time and complications were recorded.

Evaluation of pediatric spinal ependymomas: A 25-year retrospective observational study.

This study aims to evaluate the clinical and radiological features, histopathological characteristics, treatment modalities, and their effectiveness, as well as long-term follow-up results of pediatric spinal ependymomas treated at a single institution. In this retrospective study, medical records of 14 pediatric patients (3 females and 11 males) who were surgically treated for spinal ependymoma in our institution between 1995 and 2020 were reviewed. Data regarding age, gender, presenting symptoms and signs, radiological findings, postoperative status, extent of resection, histopathological grading, recurrence, tumor growth, seeding, and adjuvant treatment were collected and analyzed.

Risk factors for neurologic sequelae in children and adolescents with hemophilia after intracranial hemorrhage.

Background: Intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) is reportedly rare but has high morbidity and mortality risk in persons with hemophilia. Although the risk factors that facilitate bleeding are known, the factors affecting the sequelae are not well known.

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in children with mucopolysaccharidosis IVA: single center experience.

Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA (MPS IVA; Morquio syndrome) is a lysosomal storage disorder and features systemic skeletal dysplasia that is caused by defective Nacetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS). Although there are convincing data for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in certain types of MPS, the studies are limited for MPS IVA and more data is still pending to show the efficacy/safety of HSCT. This study included 3 girls and 7 boys, with a median age of 75,5 months (35-186 months), who underwent allogeneic HSCT for severe MPS IVA between February 12, 2021, and March 10, 2023.

Objective: We aimed to investigate the relationship between advanced glycation end product (AGE) levels in patients with saphenous vein graft (SVG) failure and in patients without SVG failure.

Subjects And Methods: In our study, 55 patients with a history of previous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery, who subsequently underwent coronary angiography for any reason and were found to have either SVG occlusion or significant lesions, were included as study patients. Additionally, 55 patients who have had CABG surgery without SVG failure for at least 1 year served as the control group.
