Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the clinical outcome and mid-term efficacy of ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) as a treatment for symptomatic uterine fibroids at two major European HIFU centers.

Materials And Methods: This bi-center longitudinal clinical study involved the treatment of 100 patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids using USgHIFU (n = 59 in Germany, n = 41 in Bulgaria). Clinical outcomes were evaluated at 6 weeks, 6 months, and 1 year follow-up utilizing the uterine fibroid symptoms-quality of life questionnaire for fibroid-related symptoms and health-related quality of life as well as MRI imaging for determining the fibroid volume.

  • * The cements, including two ready-to-use pastes and three powder-liquid combinations, were tested for their physical and chemical properties, focusing on their ability to release calcium ions after being soaked in water for 28 days.
  • * Results show that BioFactor and BioCal Cap cements released the most calcium ions, while Rootdent and TheraCal LC showed the least; an interesting finding was the relationship between aluminum content in the cements and the amount of calcium released.

Recent studies have discovered that aryl-substituted pyrido[2,1-a]isoquinolines have the potential to be highly active DPP IV inhibitors. In previous studies, we reported a novel synthetic approach for the construction of their sulfur-containing bioisosteric [1,4]thiazino[3,4-a]isoquinolines analogues, incorporating an additional aryl substituent. The present study aims to investigate the DPP IV inhibitory activity and cytotoxicity of the synthesized molecules by in vitro assay.

Cardiology Clinic, University Center Serbia, Medical School, University Clinical Center Serbia, University of Belgrade, Belgrade, Serbia.

Hypercontractile phenotype (HP) of the left ventricle (LV) is an actionable therapeutic target in patients with chronic coronary syndromes (CCS) or heart failure (HF), but its clinical recognition remains difficult. To assess the clinical variables associated with the HP. In a prospective, observational, multicenter study, we recruited 5122 patients (age 65 ± 11 years, 2974 males, 58%) with CCS and/or HF with preserved ejection fraction (EF).
