A simple tool to evaluate the effectiveness of HIV care for settings with gaps in data availability (ESTIHIV).

Many HIV clinics with poor IT-infrastructure are unable to report data on individuals in care with HIV, on antiretroviral treatment (ART) and virologically suppressed (VS), with the aim of monitoring the HIV Continuum of Care to estimate efficacy of HIV treatment programmes. We developed an estimation-tool, ESTIHIV, and determined the minimal data required for a random sample, to produce representative estimates, with a specified level of precision, of people with HIV on ART and VS. For proof of concept, 8852 HIV positive persons from seven clinics in seven different countries, with a follow-up visit during 2017, were included.

Antibiotic prescribing patterns among dentists in Italy and Albania: A comparative questionnaire analysis.

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic and prophylactic use of antibiotics in dentistry in two countries

Methods: This study used questionnaires to examine the prescribing habits of dentists in Italy (9th country in Europe for systemic antibiotic administration) and Albania an Extra European Union Country. A total of 1300 questionnaires were sent to Italian and Albanian dentists.

Results: In total, 180 Italian and 180 Albanian dentists completed the questionnaire.

Chromoblastomycosis is a chronic granulomatous mycosis of the skin and subcutaneous tissue caused by traumatic inoculation with dematiaceous fungi. This disease primarily affects agricultural workers, who are mostly men. We present a case of chromoblastomycosis in a 63-year-old male farmer patient with dermatosis over 50 years of evolution, with warty, erythematous, and scaly plaques that predominate on the left hemithorax.

Background: This study introduces the root plastique technique (RPT), the aim of which is to modify the gingival phenotype of sites with gingival recessions (GRs) associated with non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) prior to surgical treatment.

Methods: RPT was performed in 22 subjects with 53 RT1 A/B + GRs. Changes in keratinized tissue thickness (KTT), keratinized tissue width (KTW), relative gingival recession (RGR), relative clinical attachment level (RCAL), and probing pocket depth (PPD) were measured at baseline (T0) and 2 months (T1) after the procedure was performed.

The Effectiveness of Osseodensification Drilling Protocol for Implant Site Osteotomy: A Systematic Review of the Literature and Meta-Analysis.

Maintenance Evaluation of the Original Anatomy of the Root Canal Diameters Instrumented with Mtwo and BioRace Systems.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate maintenance of the original anatomy of the root canal diameters instrumented with the Mtwo rotary instruments and BioRace file systems. Acrylic resin blocks with 160 simulated root canals with an angle curvature 15°-30° were taken into consideration in the present comparative study. The 160 simulated root canals were divided into two groups, each of them containing 80 acrylic resin blocks.

The literature highlights differences in the dental conditions of people with disabilities compared with the general population. The aim of this study was to provide an overview of the dental health of people with disabilities in order to understand if their needs are met and to identify their most critical issues as per dentists. A paper and a Google Form platform were used in conducting a survey in Central Italy (the Abruzzo region), by performing an analysis on different points of view as reported by people with disabilities and dentists.

Objective: As part of European League against Rheumatism (EULAR)/European Musculoskeletal Conditions Surveillance and Information Network, 20 user-focused standards of care (SoCs) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) addressing 16 domains of care were developed. Objectives: To describe and explore differences in formal regulations around sick leave and work disability (WD) for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as perceptions by rheumatologists and patients on the system's performance, across European countries.

Methods: We conducted three cross-sectional surveys in 50 European countries: one on work (re-)integration and social security (SS) system arrangements in case of sick leave and long-term WD due to RA (one rheumatologist per country), and two among approximately 15 rheumatologists and 15 patients per country on perceptions regarding SS arrangements on work participation. Differences in regulations and perceptions were compared across categories defined by gross domestic product (GDP), type of social welfare regime, European Union (EU) membership and country RA WD rates.
