Both the global and European energy sectors have been undergoing a deep transition for several years, associated with a reduction in the overall share of conventional coal-based energy in favor of new technologies, especially energy from renewable sources (RES). This transition is moving from centralized production towards distributed technologies and from providing only energy to end users towards combining innovative products and services with it. Electricity consumers are becoming prosumers connected to the grid and generating an increasing amount of energy.

Ovarian cancer (OC) presents a diagnostic challenge, often resulting in poor patient outcomes. Platelet RNA sequencing, which reflects the host's response to disease, shows promise for earlier OC detection. This study examines the impact of sex, age, platelet count and the training on cancer types other than OC on classification accuracy achieved in the previous platelet-alone training dataset.

The PD-1/PDL-1 immune checkpoint inhibitors revolutionized cancer treatment, yet osteosarcoma remains a therapeutic challenge. In some types of cancer, PD-1 receptor is not solely expressed by immune cells but also by cancer cells, acting either as a tumor suppressor or promoter. While well-characterized in immune cells, little is known about the role and interactome of the PD-1 pathway in cancer.

Due to the numerous dangers arising from excessive use of antibiotics in treatments, researchers have been searching for natural alternatives to conventional antibiotics. Despite the popularity of plant extracts, essential oils, and their derivatives in herbal medicine, their applications in novel therapies are rather limited. This paper tries to open a new possibility for infection treatments by assessing the suitability of antimicrobial hydrogels as bioinks.

Proteolytic enzymes play key roles in living organisms. Because of their potentially destructive action of degrading other proteins, their activity must be very tightly controlled. The evolutionarily conserved proteins of the HtrA family are an excellent example illustrating strategies for regulating enzymatic activity, enabling protease activation in response to an appropriate signal, and protecting against uncontrolled proteolysis.
