Objectives: Air pollution and traffic noise are detrimental to cardiovascular health. However, the effects of different sources of these exposures on cardiovascular biomarkers remain unclear. We explored the associations of long-term exposure to source-specific air pollution (vehicular exhausts and residential woodsmoke) at low concentrations and road-traffic noise with systemic inflammation and cardiovascular disease biomarkers.

Purpose: To determine the prevalence of an "increased posterior tibial slope (PTS)" (PTS ≥ 12°) in a population with one, two or ≥ three anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft insufficiencies. Furthermore, to investigate whether the prevalence of an increased PTS and the absolute PTS increases with an increasing number of ACL graft insufficiencies, as well as to determine the survival time of the first ACL graft.
Methods: Patients diagnosed with an ACL graft insufficiency between January 2021 and March 2022 were included.

Even though sunlight is viewed as the most important determinant of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) status, several European studies have observed higher 25(OH)D concentrations among north-Europeans than south-Europeans. We studied the association between geographical latitude (derived from ecological data) and 25(OH)D status in six European countries using harmonised immunoassay data from 81 084 participants in the Biomarkers for Cardiovascular Risk Assessment in Europe (BiomarCaRE) project (male sex 48·9 %; median age 50·8 years; examination period 1984-2014). Quantile regression models, adjusted for age, sex, decade and calendar week of sampling and time from sampling to analysis, were used for between-country comparisons.

Chitosan-caseinate nanoparticles were synthesized by polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) formation. Caseinate is an anionic micellar nanocolloid in aqueous solutions, which association with the polycationic chitosan yielded polyelectrolyte complexes with caseinate cores surrounded by a chitosan corona. The pre-structuration of caseinate micelles facilitates the formation of natural polyelectrolyte nanoparticles with good stability and sizes around 200 nm.

Objectives: Cancer survivors are often diagnosed with subsequent prostate cancer. To improve medical care of these patients, we examined the oncological outcomes in men with prostate cancer and a cancer history.
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 25,422 prostate cancer patients, who underwent a radical prostatectomy between 1992 and 2016.

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholangiopathy characterized by biliary fibrosis, development of cholestasis and end stage liver disease, high risk of malignancy, and frequent need for liver transplantation. The poor understanding of its pathogenesis is also reflected in the lack of effective medical treatment. Well-characterized animal models are utterly needed to develop novel pathogenetic concepts and study new treatment strategies.
