Methods And Results: We prospectively enrolled patients between 2010 and 2017 in 2 studies; participants with a final diagnosis of probable or definite transient ischemic attack or stroke were pooled for analysis.

Prevalence and Diagnostic Journey of Friedreich's Ataxia in the State of São Paulo, Brazil.

Friedreich's Ataxia (FRDA) is the leading cause of ataxia worldwide, but data on epidemiology and diagnostic journey are scarce, particularly in Latin America. Herein we estimated the prevalence of FRDA in the most populous Brazilian state and characterized the diagnostic odyssey of the disease. We received anonymized data of patients with FRDA from advocacy groups and physicians.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of celiac disease and its predictors in children with constipation.

Methods: A hospital-based cross-sectional comparative study was conducted between November, 2018 to April, 2020. Children aged 1-12 years were screened for the presence of constipation as per ROME IV criteria and designated as cases.

Colonization with Aspergillus flavus is recognized as a trigger for the growth of nasal polyps. The fungal proteins initiate the recruitment of T cells into the nasal mucosa, which contributes to the progression of nasal polyps.

Influenza A virus (IAV) employs multiple strategies to manipulate cellular mechanisms and support proper virion formation and propagation. In this study, we performed a detailed analysis of the interplay between IAV and the host cells' proteostasis throughout the entire infectious cycle. We reveal that IAV infection activates the inositol requiring enzyme 1 (IRE1) branch of the unfolded protein response, and that this activation is important for an efficient infection.

Rare Idiopathic Adult Intussusception: A Case Report.

Intussusception is highly uncommon in adults, with most cases caused by a pathological lead point that requires surgical resection. This case presentation highlights a rare example of idiopathic intussusception in a young male adult. Our patient is a 23-year-old African American male who presented at the Piedmont Macon Medical Center emergency department in February 2023 with acute-onset severe periumbilical pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
