Background: Right ventricular (RV) imaging has not a definite role in risk stratification of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) patients. We tested the hypothesis that echocardiography-derived phenotypes, depicting different degrees of RV remodeling and dysfunction, may provide additional prognostic information to current risk stratification tools.
Methods: Consecutive incident PAH patients aged ≥18 years, diagnosed between January 2005 and December 2021, underwent clinical assessment, right heart catheterization, standard echocardiography.

This case presents a challenging diagnosis of EGPA presenting as eosinophilic myocarditis. It is a condition that can mimic many other diseases and where prompt diagnosis and early treatment is essential for recovery. The diagnosis was made after an endomyocardial biopsy (EMB) and showed the importance of EMB in the diagnostic work-up.

We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis on efficacy and safety of BA compared with standard treatment in patients with hypercholesterolemia. Methods and Results Studies were systematically searched in the PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and EMBASE databases.

Pulmonary hypertension is a common finding that can significantly impact prognosis. Molecular pathophysiological mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension in systemic sclerosis can be extremely heterogeneous, leading to distinct clinical phenotypes.

FOXN1 is the master regulatory gene of thymic epithelium development. FOXN1 deficiency leads to thymic aplasia, alopecia, and nail dystrophy, accounting for the nude/severe combined immunodeficiency (nu/SCID) phenotype in humans and mice. We identified several newborns with low levels of T cell receptor excision circles (TRECs) and T cell lymphopenia at birth, who carried heterozygous loss-of-function FOXN1 variants.

Cardiac dysfunction after treatment with anthracyclines has historically been a major problem. However, also targeted therapies and biological molecules can induce reversible and irreversible cardiac dysfunction.

Thus, identifying high sensitivity and specificity, low-cost, non invasive tests is crucial. Here we present the case of a patient, at a high risk of CAD, undergoing coronary angiography because of positive exercise test and stress imaging results, with non obstructive coronary artery disease at angiography, confirmed by FFR.

Purpose: To investigate determinants of right ventricular (RV) function in competitive athletes by a combined assessment of speckle tracking (STE) and real time 3D echocardiography (RT3DE).
Methods: Right ventricular function of 40 top-level rowers was compared to 43 sedentary normal controls by standard Doppler echocardiography, RT3DE, and STE. RV diameters and wall thickness, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE), tricuspid E/A ratio, and pulsed tissue Doppler of lateral tricuspid annulus were analyzed.
