The aim of this study was to investigate the effect and molecular mechanism of Xuebijing Injection in the treatment of sepsis-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) based on network pharmacology and in vitro experiment. The active components of Xuebijing Injection were screened and the targets were predicted by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform(TCMSP). The targets of sepsis-associated ARDS were searched against GeneCards, DisGeNet, OMIM, and TTD.

A network pharmacology-based strategy combined with molecular docking and in vitro validation was employed to investigate potential targets and molecular mechanisms of modified Liangge San(MLGS) against acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS). Active ingredients and corresponding targets of MLGS were screened out on the Traditional Chinese Medicines Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP) database, and the disease targets of ARDS were obtained by integrating GeneCards and DisGeNET database. The two were intersected to obtain the potential targets of MLGS against ARDS.

Inflammation is an essential mechanism of immune response that involves a large number of different immune cells. Atherosclerosis is essentially an inflammatory disease caused by inappropriate activities of immune cells. During this process, various cytokines activate immune cells, regulate and transmit immune cell signals, and stimulate a local inflammatory environment.

Background: Hidden blood loss (HBL) often occurs after joint replacement; however, the mechanism of HBL is not clear. We conducted a prospective study to analyze the correlation between high-level free fatty acids (FFA) and erythrocyte injury, and explore the pathologic mechanism of hidden blood loss (HBL) after total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods: Perioperative blood indexes were tested in 120 patients who underwent unilateral total knee replacement for end-stage knee osteoarthritis.

Wound healing is a ubiquitous healthcare problem in clinical wound management. In this paper, the fabrication of a graphene hybrid supramolecular hydrogel (GS hydrogel) for wound dressing applications is demonstrated. The hydrogel is composed of two components, including -acryloyl glycinamide (NAGA) as the scaffold and graphene as the photothermally responsive active site for photothermal therapy.

Biomimetic enzyme barrier (BEB) encapsulated microcapsules with alginate shells were fabricated with a microfluidic electrospray approach for preventing intestine-derived LPS induced diseases. As the alginate shells could protect the contents in gastric juice and release them in the intestine, the inner BEB could form a consecutive immune barrier on the surface of the intestine during the release. Through combining BEB with alkaline phosphatase, the immune barrier could degrade and prevent the permeation of lipopolysaccharide, which enhanced the intestinal barrier function.

Among various available stimuli, near-infrared (NIR) light is particularly attractive because it can penetrate biotic tissues with sufficient intensity and minimal damage. In this work, a kind of photoresponsive delivery microcarriers (PDMs) is developed using microfluidics.

p110α is an important subunit of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinases (PI3Ks) encoded by . Though PI3Ks are known as crucial regulators of cellular growth and proliferation, the function of mutations in fulvestrant resistance remains elusive. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the roles of mutations in fulvestrant resistance and tumor progression.

Background: Chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA) has been reclassified as several different subtypes, and the clinical features of the different types should be further investigated. Surgery is a remedial option for patients who experience pharmacological treatment failure, though more information about the effectiveness and prognosis of surgical treatment and perioperative medication for different types of CPA is needed.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of patients with proven CPA who underwent surgery between January 2001 and June 2018 at Nanjing Jinling Hospital.

Invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) is a severe infectious disease with high mortality. However, the clinical diagnosis of IPA remains difficult since the microbiological evidence is hard to acquire. The main issue of the current microbiological methods is that they are time-consuming and offer a low yield.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has attracted much attention as a strategy for tumor therapy. However, the insolubility and poor tumor-targeting ability of most photosensitizers (PSs) hinder PDT from further development. Therefore, it is necessary to explore new carriers with good water solubility and biocompatibility to deliver PSs to tumors.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer. It is known that hyaluronic acid (HA) binds CD44 receptors, which are overexpressed on the surface of TNBC cells. To optimize the targeting ability of HA, in this study we coated gold nanobipyramids (GBPs) with high and low molecular weight HA (380 kDa and 102 kDa), named GBPs@h-HA and GBPs@l-HA, respectively.

The aim of the present study is to investigate whether there is a relationship between miR-18a expression and radiosensitization of non-small-cell lung caner (NSCLC). The relationship between miR-18a expression and clinicopathological characteristics was investigated. To determine whether the miR-18a expression levels were associated with radiotherapeutic efficacy, therapeutic response was evaluated by radiologic Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST).
