Therefore, we investigated the role and mechanism of anoikis resistance mediated by free fatty acids (FFAs) derived from lipophagy in highly invasive clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Here, we found that the highly invasive ccRCC cell line Himi exhibited enhanced resistance to anoikis and elevated lipophagy levels.

No prior studies have examined the potential impacts of temperature on placental markers. We conducted an investigation into the cumulative impact of daily ambient temperature on critical clinical placental perfusion and function markers during the placentation period, utilizing data from a prospective birth cohort in Nanjing, China.

Association of the Revised Cardiac Risk Index with 1-year postoperative mortality: A single-center retrospective study.

Objective: To explore risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality and to identify its association with the Revised Cardiac Risk Index (RCRI).

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study involving 54,933 patients aged 18 years and above who were surgically treated under general or regional anesthesia in a tertiary hospital in Singapore. Independent risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality were identified by univariate Cox regression analysis.

Objective: It is controversial whether rapid lowering of triglyceride (TG) levels is associated with clinical benefits in patients with hypertriglyceridaemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP). Recent research indicates that TFE3/TFEB-targeted biomarker glycoprotein nonmetastatic B (GPNMB) is upregulated inTSC1/2-related tumours. In this study, we performed molecular analysis on SEGAs and analyzed GPNMB expression in 6 SEGAs, 10 PXAs, 9 GBMs, 8 eGBMs, 8 diffuse astrocytomas, 8 oligodendrogliomas and 7 glioneuronal tumours through immunohistochemistry, 100 % (6/6) of the SEGA cases exhibited positive GPNMB expression, whereas it was negative in all other CNS tumours.

Background: National Medical Licensing Examination (NMLE) is the entrance exam for medical practice in China, and its general medical knowledge test (GMKT) evaluates abilities of medical students to comprehensively apply medical knowledge to clinical practice. This study aimed to identify nonacademic predictors of GMKT performance, which would benefit medical schools in designing appropriate strategies and techniques to facilitate the transition from medical students to qualified medical practitioners.

Methods: In 1202 medical students, we conducted the deletion-substitution-addition (DSA) and structural equation model (SEM) analyses to identify nonacademic predictors of GMKT performance from 98 candidate variables including early life events, physical conditions, psychological and personality assessments, cognitive abilities, and socioeconomic conditions.

Background: Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the most common and severe complications of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
