Centrosomal dysregulation is closely linked to the genesis and progression of tumors. A comprehensive analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data has revealed that leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 45 (LRRC45), a centrosome linker protein crucial for maintaining centrosome cohesion and a member of the leucine-rich repeat-containing proteins (LRRCs) family, is significantly upregulated in bladder cancer. Notably, the elevated expression levels of LRRC45 were strongly correlated with a poor prognosis in patients.

Bilateral diffuse metastatic lung adenocarcinoma (BLDM-LUAD) is a special imaging pattern of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). We retrospectively assessed survival outcomes and co-mutation characteristics of BLDM-LUAD patients harboring epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations who were treated with EGFR-yrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). From May 2016 to May 2021, among 458 patients who submitted samples for next generation sequencing (NGS) detection in 1125 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and 44 patients were diagnosed as BLDM-LUAD.

X-ray repair cross-complementation group 1 (XRCC1) is a pivotal contributor to base excision repair, and its dysregulation has been implicated in the oncogenicity of various human malignancies. However, a comprehensive pan-cancer analysis investigating the prognostic value, immunological functions, and epigenetic associations of XRCC1 remains lacking. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted a systematic investigation employing bioinformatics techniques across 33 cancer types.

Uveal melanoma (UVM) is a primary intraocular malignancy that poses a significant threat to patients' visual function and life. The basement membrane (BM) is critical for establishing and maintaining cell polarity, adult function, embryonic and organ morphogenesis, and many other biological processes. Some basement membrane protein genes have been proven to be prognostic biomarkers for various cancers.

Sparganosis is a rare parasitic infection caused by plerocercoid tapeworm larvae. We described a case of a 27-year-old man presenting with numbness in both legs and masses in the right lung and spine, initially thought to have spinal metastasis from lung cancer. However, after pathological and parasitological examinations, the patient was found to have spinal sparganosis, likely due to a history of consuming raw frogs.

Background: The "obesity paradox" has been elucidated in patients with heart failure (HF). Current guidelines introduce a target diastolic blood pressure (DBP) < 80 mmHg but >70 mmHg in HF patients. Due to reduced coronary perfusion, low DBP has a deleterious impact on cardiovascular outcomes.

Cardiac autonomic neuropathy has a high prevalence in type 2 diabetes, which increases the risk of cardiovascular system disorders. CpG oligodeoxynucleotide (CpG-ODN), a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) ligand, has been shown to have cardioprotection and cellular protection. Our previous work showed that P2Y12 in stellate ganglia (SG) is involved in the process of diabetic cardiac autonomic neuropathy (DCAN).

Background: Macrophages are known to play a crucial role in the chronic inflammation associated with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). BML-111, acting as a lipoxin A4 (LXA4) receptor agonist, has shown to be effective in protecting against COPD. However, the precise mechanism by which BML-111 exerts its protective effect remains unclear.

To explore the value of serum sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) in the diagnosis and evaluation of joint mobility of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Serum was randomly obtained from 212 RA patients,210 non-RA patients and 58 healthy controls in a large tertiary first-class hospital in Jiangxi province from November 2021 to June 2022. The level of serum Sirt1,anti-cyclic citrulline polypeptide antibody (anti-CCP), anti-mutant citrulline vimentin antibody (anti-MCV), rheumatoid factor (RF),high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), collagen triple helix repeat containing 1 (CTHRC1), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were detected by ELISA, to explore the correlation between them and their value in the diagnosis and evaluation of joint range of motion of RA and statistically analyse their diagnostic efficiency.

Ferroptosis is an inflammatory programmed cell death process that is dependent on iron deposition and lipid peroxidation. The P2X7 receptor not only is involved in the pain process but also is closely related to the onset of depression. Gallic acid (3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid), which is naturally found in a variety of plants, exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and analgesic effects.

Diabetic cardiovascular autonomic neuropathy (DCAN) is a common complication of diabetes mellitus which brings about high mortality, high morbidity, and large economic burden to the society. Compensatory tachycardia after myocardial ischemia caused by DCAN can increase myocardial injury and result in more damage to the cardiac function. The inflammation induced by hyperglycemia can increase P2X7 receptor expression in the superior cervical ganglion (SCG), resulting in nerve damage.

Diabetic cardiac autonomic neuropathy is a common and serious chronic complication of diabetes, which can lead to sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve imbalance and a relative excitation of the sympathetic nerve. Purinergic receptors play a crucial role in this process. Diabetic cardiac sympathetic nerve injury affects the expression of purinergic receptors, and activated purinergic receptors affect the phosphorylation of different signaling pathways and the regulation of inflammatory processes.

Dysregulated GABAergic inhibition in the amygdala has long been implicated in stress-related neuropsychiatric disorders. However, the molecular and circuit mechanisms underlying the dysregulation remain elusive. Here, by using a mouse model of chronic social defeat stress (CSDS), we observed that the dysregulation varied drastically across individual projection neurons (PNs) in the basolateral amygdala (BLA), one of the kernel amygdala subregions critical for stress coping.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the seventh most common type of cancer worldwide. Its highly aggressive and heterogeneous nature and complex tumor microenvironment result in variable prognosis and immunotherapeutic outcomes for patients with HNSCC. Neurotrophic factor-related genes (NFRGs) play an essential role in the development of malignancies but have rarely been studied in HNSCC.
