Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is an uncommon genetic disorder characterized by shortness of stature, hearing loss, poor bone mass, recurrent fractures, and skeletal abnormalities. Pathogenic variations have been found in over 20 distinct genes that are involved in the pathophysiology of OI, contributing to the disorder's clinical and genetic variability. Although medications, surgical procedures, and other interventions can partially alleviate certain symptoms, there is still no known cure for OI.

Apoptosis and autophagy have been shown to act cooperatively and antagonistically in self-elimination process. On the one side, apoptosis and autophagy can act as partners to induce cell death in a coordinated or cooperative manner; on the flip side, autophagy acts as an antagonist to block apoptotic cell death by promoting cell survival. Our previous research indicated that trillin could induce apoptosis of PLC/PRF/5 cells, but the effects of trillin on autophagy as well as its functional relationship to apoptosis have not been elucidated.

Polyphosphate (polyP) kinase 1 (PPK1) is conserved in and is responsible for polyP synthesis. polyP is a chain molecule linked by high-energy phosphate bonds, which is considered to play a very important role in bacterial persistence.

Purpose: The inflammatory parameters of peripheral blood are related to the prognosis of various cancers. The aim of this meta-analysis is to explore the prognostic value of preoperative OPNI in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).
Methods: The following search strategies were used to locate all literature published up to May 1, 2022: PubMed, Web of Science, CBM, EMBASE, and Cochrane, using the keywords "Prognosis," "survival," "Nutritional Assessment," "Nutrition Index," and "PNI," "OPNI," "Gastrointestinal stromal tumor," and "GIST.

Alterations in glycosylation regulate fundamental molecular and cellular processes of cancer, serving as important biomarkers and therapeutic targets. However, the potential association and regulatory mechanisms of E6 oncoprotein on glycosylation of cervical cancer cells are still unclear. Here, we evaluated the glycomic changes using Lectin microarray and determined the corresponding enzymes associated with endogenous high-risk HPV16 E6 expression in cervical cancer cells.

To investigate the protective effects and mechanisms of the polysaccharide from (BIH) on liver injury induced by D-galactose in rats. Sixty male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: the control group (=12), the D-gal group (=12), the BIH-L treatment group (D-gal+50 mg/kg BIH, =12), the BIH-M treatment group (D-gal+100 mg/kg BIH, =12), and the BIH-H treatment group (D-gal+200 mg/kg BIH, =12). The rats were injected into the back of the neck with D-gal of 100 mg/kg/d subcutaneously except for the control group.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is listed as a class I carcinogen in human gastric cancer; however, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. In this study, we identified Protogenin (PRTG) was upregulated in both gastric cancer tissues and H.

Trillin is a constituent of total Trillium Tschonoskii Maxim (TTM), which is extracted from TTM and displayed anti-tumor effect in many tumor cell lines. However, the anti-tumor mechanism of trillin is still unclear. This study demonstrated that trillin could dramatically inhibit hepatoma carcinoma cell proliferation, induce apoptosis and decrease migration and invasion through suppressing phosphorylated STAT3 translocated to nucleus.

Objective: To investigate the effects of dihydromyricetin (DHM) on the migration and invasion of human gastric cancer MKN45 cells and its mechanism and provide experimental basis for the prevention and treatment of gastric cancer with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Methods: MKN45 cells were pre-treated with DHM (0,10,20,30,40,50 μmol/L) for 24 and 48 hours respectively. Cell viability treated with different concentrations of DHM was detected by Cell Counting kit (CCK-8) assay, cell migration was measured by wound healing assay, and cell invasion was tested by Transwell assay.

Objective: To study the protective effect and the underlying mechanism of trillium tschonoskii maxim (TTM, Traditional Chinese Medicine) on myocardial injury of diabetic rats induced by high-fat diet and streptozotocin (STZ), which will lay a theoretical foundation for further exploring its pharmacological effect.
Methods: SD male rats received high fat diet and STZ (35 mg/kg) tail vein injection were modeled into diabetic rats, the levels of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in serum, the contents of superoxide (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX),malondialdehyde (MDA) in cardiac tissues, and cardiac myocyte apoptosis index were tested in all groups after the last administration.
Results: Compared with that in the model group, SOD and GPX activities were significantly increased and levels of BNP、cTnI、cardiac weight index (CWI)、apoptosis index (AI) were decreased in TTM and metformin (Met) group.
