Over the past few decades, the clinical features of pulmonary cryptococcosis (PC) have progressed; however, there is a lack of data on the manifestations of PC over time. To investigate the differences in the clinical characteristics of PC across different time periods, we retrospectively reviewed 130 non-acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients diagnosed with pathologically or microbiologically confirmed PC from 1990-2020. Among the 130 patients with PC, 24 (18.

Osteoarticular tuberculosis is one of the extrapulmonary tuberculosis, which is mainly caused by direct infection of or secondary infection of tuberculosis in other parts. Due to the low specificity of the current detection method, it is leading to a high misdiagnosis rate and subsequently affecting the follow-up treatment and prognosis. Metabolomics is mainly used to study the changes of the body's metabolites in different states, so it can serve as an important means in the discovery of disease-related metabolic biomarkers and the corresponding mechanism research.

Glioma represents the most common primary intracranial malignancy worldwide, with low overall survival rates and limited therapeutic options. The protein CD101, mainly expressed on several immune cells, has been demonstrated to exert potent effects on blunting T cell immune responses across infectious and autoimmunity diseases. Nevertheless, the prognostic value of CD101 expression and its role in the immune microenvironment of various malignancies currently remains elusive.

NF-κB (nuclear factor κB) is a regulator of hepatocellular cancer (HCC)-related inflammation and enhances HCC cells' resistance to antitumor therapies by promoting cell survival and anti-apoptosis processes. In the present work, we demonstrate that A20, a dominant-negative regulator of NF-κB, forms a complex with HSP90 (heat-shock protein 90) and causes the disassociation of the A20/HSP90 complex downregulation of HSP90. This process restores the antitumor activation of A20.

Non-invasive early prediction of septic acute kidney injury (S-AKI) is still urgent and challenging. Increased Doppler-based renal resistive index (RRI) has been shown to be associated with S-AKI, but its clinical use is limited, which may be explained by the complex effects of systemic circulation. Echocardiogram allows non-invasive assessment of systemic circulation, which may provide an effective supplement to RRI.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are the standard of care for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with exon 19 deletion and L858R mutations. However, no EGFR TKI has been approved for NSCLC patients harboring insertion mutations in exon 20 (ex20ins), a subgroup of uncommon mutations resistant to first-generation EGFR TKIs. This unmet clinical challenge is further complicated by disease progression due to brain metastases (BMs), which limits the use of EGFR TKIs with low intracranial activity.

Hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer (HLRCC) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder that results from a germline mutation in the fumarate hydratase () gene; it manifests as cutaneous leiomyomas, uterine fibroids, and renal cell cancer (RCC). Patients with HLRCC-associated RCC (HLRCC-RCC) have aggressive clinical courses, but there is no standardized therapy for advanced HLRCC-RCC. Here, we describe aggressive HLRCC in a 26-year-old man who presented with RCC that exhibited a novel heterozygous germline insertion mutation in exon 2 of the gene (c.
