Cardiovascular incidents including LV dysfunction, heart failure (HF), severe arrhythmias, arterial hypertension, and death are associated with high morbidity and mortality. Risk stratification of cancer patients prior to initiation of chemotherapy is crucial, especially in high-risk patients for cardiotoxicity.

During human gestation, maternal bone turnover increases, as reflected by molecules involved in bone metabolism, such as vitamin D, osteocalcin, sclerostin, sRANKL, and osteoprotegerin; however, recent studies support their emerging role in endocrine functions and glucose homeostasis regulation. Herein, we sought to systematically review current knowledge on the effects of aforementioned maternal bone biomarkers during pregnancy on fetal intrauterine growth and metabolism, neonatal anthropometric measures at birth, as well as on future endocrine and metabolic wellbeing of the offspring.

Ambulatory blood pressure trajectories and blood pressure variability in kidney transplant recipients: a comparative study against chronic kidney disease patients.

Background: Hypertension is a major cardiovascular risk factor in both kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) and patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) is considered the gold-standard method for hypertension management in these subjects. This is the first study evaluating the full ambulatory blood pressure (BP) profile and short-term BP variability (BPV) in KTRs versus CKD patients without kidney replacement therapy.

An unbiased, automated and reliable method for analysis of brain lesions in tissue after ischemic stroke is missing. Manual infarct volumetry or by threshold-based semi-automated approaches is laborious, and biased to human error or biased by many false -positive and -negative data, respectively. Thereby, we developed a novel machine learning, atlas-based method for fully automated stroke analysis in mouse brain slices stained with 2% Triphenyltetrazolium-chloride (2% TTC), named "StrokeAnalyst", which runs on a user-friendly graphical interface.

The combination of Resminostat (HDACi) and Ruxolitinib (JAKi) exerted cytotoxic effects and inhibited proliferation of CTCL cell lines (MyLa, SeAx) in previously published work. A xenograft tumor formation was produced by implanting the MyLa or SeAx cells on top of the chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM). The CAM assay protocol was developed to monitor the metastatic properties of CTCL cells and the effects of Resminostat and/or Ruxolitinib in vivo.

The present study presents the clinical outcome of SARS-CoV-2 disease in relation to the humoral response in fully vaccinated solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients. Our patient cohort consists of 455 SOT recipients, vaccinated with one of the 2 approved mRNA vaccines. The antibody response was measured 1 month after the second dose, and previously infected patients have been excluded.
