Background: Due to non-vascularized and aneural structure, articular cartilage has limited self-repairing capacity. The aim of this study was to investigate the revitalization of inflammatory injured articular cartilage matrices by human nasal chondrocytes (hNC).
Materials And Methods: Cartilage matrix was prepared by devitalization of articular cartilage samples obtained intraoperatively from an adult patient undergoing knee joint replacement.

Combined proton-neutron therapy can be the best opportunity for neutron radiation therapy due to highly conformal proton irradiation and high relative biological effectiveness of neutrons. The study compares 4 schemes of sequential in vitro exposure of Chinese hamster fibrosarcoma cells B14-150 to 14.5 MeV neutrons and a scanning beam of protons.

We read with great interest the meta-analysis by Mudgal et al. (2024) regarding the effectiveness and safety assessment of stem cell therapy for diabetic foot ulcers. Indeed, The management of chronic wounds requires innovative approaches to avoid unsuccessful outcomes, and stromal cell therapies have emerged as a potential solution for soft tissue repair.

The article presents a clinical case of perioperative non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in a patient with primary metasynchronous cancer of the rectum, stomach and bladder, which developed during simultaneous surgical intervention in the volume of proximal gastrectomy and abdominoperineal extirpation of the rectum. Fluctuations in blood pressure and imbalance in the hemostasis system at the stages of anesthesia and surgery in a patient with severe systemic atherosclerosis caused the development of myocardial ischemia in the area of significant coronary stenosis. Emergency coronary angiography detected subtotal stenosis of the anterior descending artery; stenting of the affected area of the coronary artery was performed.

Tongue cancer at a young age demonstrates an increase in incidence, aggressiveness, and poor response to therapy. Classic etiological factors for head and neck tumors such as tobacco, alcohol, and human papillomavirus are not related to early-onset tongue cancer. Mechanisms of development and progression of this cancer remain unclear.

Surgery is pivotal in treating esophageal cancer; hybrid esophagectomy, which combines minimally invasive and open techniques, shows promising outcomes. This historical cohort study compared the surgical outcomes of standard open esophagectomy with hybrid esophagectomy. Overall, 58 patients who underwent either hybrid or open esophagectomy at the Ulyanovsk Regional Clinical Oncology Clinic, Russia, from January 2015 to December 2023 were included.

The Russian consensus on the treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma was prepared by the group of experts consisting of surgeons, interventional radiologists, radiation therapists and oncologists. The purposes of this consensus are clarification and consolidation of opinions of multidisciplinary team on the following issues of management of patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: indications for surgical treatment, features of therapeutic tactics for mechanical jaundice, technical aspects of liver resection, prevention of post-resection liver failure, indications for liver resection using transplantation technologies, laparoscopic and robot-assisted liver resection, perioperative systemic chemotherapy, local non-resection/non-radiotherapy methods of treatment, radiotherapy, follow-up and choice of treatment for recurrence.

Previously, we showed the antitumor activity of the new NOS/PDK inhibitor T1084 (1-isobutanoyl-2-isopropylisothiourea dichloroacetate). The present study included an assessment of in vitro cytotoxicity against human malignant and normal cells according to the MTT-test and in vivo antitumor effects in solid tumor models in comparison with precursor compounds T1023 (NOS inhibitor; 1-isobutanoyl-2-isopropylisothiourea hydrobromide) and Na-DCA (PDK inhibitor; sodium dichloroacetate), using morphological, histological, and immunohistochemical methods. The effects of T1084 and T1023 on the in vitro survival of normal (MRC-5) and most malignant cells (A375, MFC-7, K562, OAW42, and PC-3) were similar and quantitatively equal.

Chemotherapy is among the main classical approaches to the treatment of oncologic diseases. Its efficiency has been comprehensively proven by clinical examinations; however, the low selectivity of chemotherapeutic agents limits the possibilities of this method, making it necessary to search for new approaches to the therapy of oncologic diseases. Photodynamic therapy is the least invasive method and a very efficient alternative for the treatment of malignant tumors; however, its efficiency depends on the depth of light penetration into the tissue and on the degree of oxygenation of the treatment zone.

Background: Lung cancer (LC) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality among malignant neoplasms. Improving the diagnosis and treatment of LC remains an urgent task of modern oncology. Previously, we established that in gastric, breast and cervical cancer, tumor microvessels (MVs) differ in morphology and have different prognostic significance.

Objective: Traditional cell-based radiobiological methods are inadequate for assessing the toxicity of ionizing radiation exposure in relation to the microstructure of the extracellular matrix. Organotypic tissue slices preserve the spatial organization observed in vivo, making the tissue easily accessible for visualization and staining. This study aims to explore the use of fluorescence microscopy of physiologically compatible 3D tissue cultures to assess the effects of ionizing radiation.

These cases are generally considered "critical defects" requiring primary or secondary reconstruction using various types of flaps, mesh repairs, bone autografts, or endoprosthesis. The past decade witnessed rapid advances in the application of personalized endoprostheses in thoracic surgery.

There is still much to learn about the epigenetic mechanisms controlling gene expression during carcinogenesis. When researching aberrant DNA methylation, active proliferative tumor cells from head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) can be used as a model. The aim of the study was to investigate the methylation status of , , , , , and genes in tumor tissue (control-normal tissue) in 50 patients (37 men and 13 women) with HPV-negative HNSCC.

Stroke remains the second leading cause of death worldwide. The development of new therapeutic agents focused on restoring vascular function and neuroprotection of viable tissues is required. In this study the neuroprotective activity of melanocortin-like ACTH(4-7)PGP and ACTH(6-9)PGP peptides was investigated in rat brain at 24 h after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO).
