Yin yang 1 (YY1), a transcription factor, plays crucial roles in cell fate specification, differentiation, and pluripotency during embryonic development. It is also involved in tumorigenesis, drug resistance, metastasis, and relapse caused by cancer stem cells (CSCs), particularly in prostate cancer (PCa). Targeting YY1 could potentially eliminate prostate CSCs (PCSCs) and provide novel therapeutic approaches.

PdRuO/PVP nanomaterial was synthesized using a straightforward method and characterized using advanced analytical methods such as TEM, XRD, XPS, elemental mapping and SEM. The synthesized PdRuO/PVP nanomaterial was used as an ionophore in potentiometric sensor electrodes and successfully adapted to Cr ion detection in a large number of aqueous samples. Several experimental parameters of the PdRuO/PVP sensor such as potentiometric behavior, selectivity, repeatability, response time, pH, titration, and recovery in real samples were investigated.

Introduction: Radial artery (RA) spasm is demonstrated to be one of the most common complications of transradial approach (TRA).
Aim: We hypothesised that radial flow-mediated dilation (FMD) can be used as a preprocedural method to assess the likelihood of arterial spasm.
Material And Methods: The patients were divided into 2 groups: those with and without flow-mediated RA dilatation.

Acrylamide (ACR) can have adverse environmental effects because of its multiple applications. Relevant scientific literatures of the existence of ACR residues in foods following processing steps have raised concern in the biochemistry, chemistry and safety of this vinyl substance. The interest has focused on the hepatotoxicity of ACR in animals and humans and on the ACR content mitigation and its detoxification.

Objective: Long-term exposure to arsenic has been linked to several illnesses, including hypertension, diabetes, hepatic and renal diseases and cardiovascular malfunction. The aim of the current investigation was to determine whether zingerone (ZN) could shield rats against the hepatotoxicity that sodium arsenite (SA) causes.
Methods: The following five groups of thirty-five male Sprague Dawley rats were created: I) Control; received normal saline, II) ZN; received ZN, III) SA; received SA, IV) SA + ZN 25; received 10 mg/kg body weight SA + 25 mg/kg body weight ZN, and V) SA + ZN 50; received 10 mg/kg body weight SA + 50 mg/kg body weight ZN.

Introduction: Intensivists play a critical role in the management of intensive care units (ICUs) and in providing high quality care. While international guidelines recommend intensivist staffing for improved patient outcomes, there is a shortage of qualified intensivists in many regions, including Türkiye. This study aimed to assess the impact of introducing a full-time intensivist to a medical ICU on patient characteristics, outcomes, and ICU interventions.

This investigation explores the combined influence of SCD Probiotics and tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) on liver health in elderly male Sprague-Dawley rats. Through the administration of intravenous TUDCA (300 mg/kg) and oral SCD Probiotics (3 mL at 1 × 10^8 CFU) daily for one week, this study evaluates the biomolecular composition, histopathological alterations, and inflammasome activity in the liver. Analytical methods encompassed ATR-FTIR spectroscopy integrated with machine learning for the assessment of biomolecular structures, RT-qPCR for quantifying inflammasome markers (NLRP3, ASC, Caspase-1, IL18, IL1β), and histological examinations to assess liver pathology.

Cancer, defined by the continuous, uncontrollable proliferation of cells in the human body, is a disease with a rapidly increasing incidence and mortality rate. Scientists are looking for novel ways to cure and prevent this sneaky disease because of the toxicity of contemporary chemotherapy and the cancer cells' resilience to anticancer drugs. Determining the effect of herbal medicines, which do not have as harmful side effects as synthetic drugs, on cancer cell lines is an essential preliminary study in the production of effective drugs against cancer.

Background: One of the most important targets in cancer immunotherapy is programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1). Monoclonal antibodies developed for this target have disadvantages due to their low bioavailability and some immune-related adverse effects. Additionally, small molecules targeting PD-L1 are still in the experimental stage.

The crucial functions of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in neurotransmission and glutathione S-transferase (GST) in detoxification and cellular protection underscore their pivotal roles as key enzymes, essential for maintaining the integrity of neurological and cellular homeostasis. For this purpose, a series of 1,2,4-triazine-sulfonamide hybrids (3a-r) was successfully synthesized, and subsequently evaluated for their inhibitory effects on AChE and GST. The investigation was complemented by molecular docking studies and ADMET (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion, and Toxicity) predictions.

Background: Exergaming has been suggested as a rehabilitation method since it is more motivational for people with multiple sclerosis (MS, pwMS). However, the major disadvantage of this method is the lack of specific scenarios designed for pwMS.
Objectives: This study aims to assess the feasibility of exergaming, which was developed for pwMS.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between different phases of bipolar disorder (depressive, manic, and euthymic) and myocardial deformation, assessed by echocardiography, compared to healthy controls. It seeks to elucidate whether these phases of bipolar disorder are associated with different myocardial strain patterns, thus contributing to the understanding of cardiovascular implications in bipolar disorder. A cross-sectional design was employed at Dursun Odabaş Medical Centre, Psychiatry Clinic of Van Yüzüncü Yl University.

Glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and lethal brain cancer, lacks effective treatment options and has a poor prognosis. In our study, we explored the potential anti-cancer effects of sodium butyrate (SB) and celastrol (CEL) in two glioblastoma cell lines. SB, a histone deacetylase inhibitor, and CEL, derived from the tripterygium wilfordii plant, act as mTOR and proteasome inhibitors.

This study aims to investigate the effects of lycopene on apoptotic, autophagic, and necrotic pathways, oxidative status, and DNA damage in diabetic nephropathy at the molecular level. The sample of the study includes seven groups: lycopene (L), high glucose (G), high glucose + lycopene (GL), and control (C) groups tested at 12 and 24 h. The expression levels of genes in oxidative, apoptotic, autophagic, and necrotic cell death pathways are determined by reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis.

It is known that working in the shift system, especially the night shift, affects physical, mental, and social well-being. We investigated the changes in the inner retinal layers and choroidal layer of the eyes of nurses working night and day shifts using optical coherence tomography (OCT). We also explored the effect of night shift work on metacognition and the relationships between these variables.
