The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of iNKT (human invariant natural killer T) cells with the key marker of ovarian cancer (OC) - CA125 (cancer antigen125) in serum. The study reports the assessment of iNKT cells in peripheral blood and tissue of benign and borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) and in the advanced-stage ovarian cancer. The study groups were as follows: 25 women with benign ovarian tumors, 11 women with BOTs, and 24 women with primary advanced-stage ovarian cancers.

The purpose of the present study was to assess the association of regulatory T cells (Tregs; CD4 FOXP3) and helper T lymphocytes (Th17) releasing interleukin (IL)-21 and IL-22, with the Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm (ROMA). Similar association was made with two additional tumour markers, human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) from patients serum. The presence of Tregs and Th17 was determined both in the peripheral blood and in the tissue of epithelial ovarian tumors.

Background: Systematic observations of fetal posture show that, although for most of the time the fetus does not have a preferred posture, it has a certain repertoire of repeated active postures. The observed postures cannot be considered random configurations of head and limb position: the fetus and the young infant have an active, but variable posture that is relatively unrelated to the orientation of the force of gravity.

Materials And Method: The study included 101 children, aged 6-7, including 50 preterm children, 48 boys and 53 girls (research group) and 51 full-term children; 22 boys and 53 girls (control group).

Aim Of The Study: The aim of the study was the assessment of changes in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) during long-term observation in a group of systemic sclerosis (SSc) patients with and without chronic antiphospholipid (aPL) antibody positivity.

Material And Methods: The observation comprised 50 patients - 23 with diffuse cutaneous SSc - dcSSc and 27 limited cutaneous SSc - lcSSc. After 24 months we assessed 27 patients (9 died, 14 lost follow up); 24 patients (88%) were treated chronically with angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs).

We perform molecular dynamics simulations for a simple coarse-grained model of a protein placed inside of a softly repulsive sphere of radius R. The protein is surrounded either by a number of same molecules or a number of spherical crowding particles that immitate other biomolecules such as the osmolytes. The two descriptions are shown to lead to distinct results when testing thermal stability as assessed by studying the unfolding times as a function of temperature.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is a result of autoimmune destruction of pancreatic insulin producing β-cells and so far it can be cured only by insulin injection, by pancreas transplantation, or by pancreatic islet cells' transplantation. The methods are, however, imperfect and have a lot of disadvantages. Therefore new solutions are needed.
