The aim of this study was (1) to explore effect of ureteral access sheath (UAS) use on primary retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) outcomes, short-term kidney functions, radiation exposure, and ureteroscope lifetime (URS-LT) and (2) to reveal factors that predict UAS insertion failure. Patients ( = 1318) who underwent RIRS without UAS (Group 1), those who had operation with a <11-13 Fr (Group 2), and those with a ≥11-13 Fr UAS were matched (1:1:2) and compared. Stone-free rate (SFR), intra- and postoperative complications, acute kidney injury (AKI), fluoroscopy time, URS-LT, and UAS insertion failure were the outcomes.

Background: Breast cancer (BRCA) is the most common and leading cause of cancer-related death in women. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNA fragments that play a role in regulating gene expression including the cancer-related pathways. Although dysregulation of miR-223 has been demonstrated in recent studies to have prognostic value in various cancers, its diagnostic and prognostic role in BRCA remains unknown.

Objective: ADP-ribosylation factor-like tumor suppressor gene 1 is a member of the Ras superfamily of small guanosine triphosphatases that are known to be involved in multiple regulatory pathways in the multistage development of human cancers. Also, ADP-ribosylation factor-like tumor suppressor gene 1 expression levels have been reported to be dramatically lower in both cancer cell lines and tumor tissues compared to controls. Accordingly, defects in the regulation of the ADP-ribosylation factor-like tumor suppressor gene 1 gene seems have key tumor suppressive effects in the formation and development of human cancers including lung cancer.

Introduction: Thyroid Bethesda Reporting System is a six-tiered system that aims to bring uniformity in reporting thyroid cytology and improve the communication with clinicians. The system has achieved its goal as a presurgical diagnostic method; however, it remains a screening method in the grey zone categories, namely atypia of undetermined significance (AUS) and follicular neoplasm (FN). The book recently released the 3rd edition, following the recent changes in thyroid pathology.

Objectives: Despite the presumed overdiagnosis of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) which has resulted in a new trend toward less-extensive surgery and a preference for active surveillance, the impact of microscopic extrathyroidal extension (mETE) on the clinical outcomes of PTMC is still controversial. This study assessed the impact of mETE on the clinical outcomes of patients with classic subtype PTMC.
Methods: The data of consecutive patients who underwent thyroidectomy and were histopathologically diagnosed as classic subtype PTMC were analyzed.

Introduction: In this study, the toxicities and management of palbociclib and ribociclib in older patients (≥65 years) with metastatic breast cancer patients were investigated.
Materials And Methods: Among older patients receiving palbociclib and ribociclib, Geriatric 8 (G8) and Groningen Frailty Index were used to evaluate frailty status. Dose modifications, drug withdrawal and other serious adverse events (SAEs) were recorded and analyzed according to baseline patient characteristics.

Objective: We aimed to determine the utility of tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) for the early diagnosis and prognosis of acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).
Patients And Methods: Patients presented with STEMI arrived at the hospital within 45 minutes after the onset of chest pain were included in this study. Blood samples for TWEAK, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), creatine kinase MB isoenzyme (CK-MB), and high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-TnT) levels were obtained at the time of arrival at the hospital.

This study aimed at synthesizing hydrogels to simulate opaque breast tissue (BT) and coloured cancerous tissues (CT) at different densities of the designed phantom to improve the biopsy-related skills along with ultrasonography. Both tissues are tear-resistant and therefore, the phantom can be trained multiple times in order to lower the price and improve the eye-hand coordination of users. For this purpose, self-healing (SH) polyacrylamide (PAAm) hydrogels (SH hydrogel) obtained by free-radical polymerization of AAm, in the presence of chemical cross-linker, BAAm, physical cross-linker stearyl methacrylate, C18, and ammonium persulfate APS as initiator were used in the design of phantoms.

Plants are the sources of many bioactive secondary metabolites which are present in plant organs including leaves, stems, roots, and flowers. Although they provide advantages to the plants in many cases, they are not necessary for metabolisms related to growth, development, and reproduction. They are specific to plant species and are precursor substances, which can be modified for generations of various compounds in different plant species.

Purpose: In Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies (DEEs), identifying the precise genetic factors guides the clinicians to apply the most appropriate treatment for the patient. Due to high locus heterogeneity, WES analysis is a promising approach for the genetic diagnosis of DEE. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to evaluate the utility of WES in the diagnosis and treatment of DEE patients.

Ribociclib, palbociclib and abemaciclib are currently approved CDK4/6 inhibitors along with aromatase inhibitors as the first-line standard-of-care for patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. The authors report retrospective real-life data for 600 patients with estrogen receptor- and/or progesterone receptor-positive and HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer who were treated with ribociclib and palbociclib in combination with letrozole. The results demonstrated that the combination of palbociclib or ribociclib with letrozole has similar progression-free survival and overall survival benefit in real life for the patient group with similar clinical features.
