Background: Observational epidemiological studies suggested that immunological dysregulation and inflammation play a significant role in the placental and renal dysfunction that leads to maternal hypertension. The immunophenotypes' possible causalities with hypertensive disease of pregnancy remain ambiguous. We performed two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to comprehensively investigate the causal effect of immunophenotypes on hypertensive disorder of pregnancy (HDP).

Background: Studies using observational epidemiology have indicated that inflammation and immunological dysregulation are important contributors to placental and renal failure, which ultimately results in maternal hypertension. The potential causal relationships between the immunophenotypes and hypertensive disorder of pregnancy (HDP) are yet unclear.
Methods: We conducted two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to thoroughly examine the relationship between immunophenotypes and HDP.

Background: Evidence from observational studies suggested a connection between immune cells and gynecologic malignancies. To investigate potential causative associations between immunophenotype traits and gynecologic malignancies, we used a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis.
Methods: The genetic instrumental variables of 731 immunophenotypes of peripheral blood were obtained by the GWAS database; the GWAS data of common gynecologic cancers were obtained from FinnGen study.

Background: Antidepressants, noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS), and their combination are commonly used in routine clinical practice. Nevertheless, there is a continuous dispute regarding whether the effectiveness of NIBS in combination with antidepressants exceeds that of antidepressants alone. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the existing evidence and draw a definitive conclusion on this issue.

Background: Immunotherapy is a practical therapeutic approach in breast cancer (BRCA), and the role of FLI1 in immune regulation has gradually been unveiled. However, the specific role of FLI1 in BRCA was conflicted; thus, additional convincing evidence is needed.
Methods: We explored the upstream regulation of FLI1 expression via summary data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR) analysis and ncRNA network construction centering on FLI1 using BRCA genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data with expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) and DNA methylation quantitative trait loci (mQTLs) from the blood and a series of in silico analyses, respectively.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a medical condition that results from severe trauma to the central nervous system; it imposes great psychological and economic burdens on affected patients and their families. The dynamic balance between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants is essential for maintaining normal cellular physiological functions. As important intracellular signaling molecules, ROS regulate numerous physiological activities, including vascular reactivity and neuronal function.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) impairs cerebrovascular autoregulation and reduces cerebral blood flow (CBF), leading to ischemic secondary injuries. We have shown that injured brains release brain-derived extracellular vesicles (BDEVs) into circulation, where they cause a systemic hypercoagulable state that rapidly turns into consumptive coagulopathy. The BDEVs induce endothelial injury and permeability, leading to the hypothesis that they contribute to TBI-induced cerebrovascular dysregulation.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant tumor with high mortality and severe complication in China. Numerous studies have shown that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in the regulation of various processes in cancer cells. Our research aimed to investigate the underlying mechanism of the lncRNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 7 (SNHG7) in HCC development.

Drug resistance is a major obstacle in chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, wherein the up regulation of drug-resistant genes plays an important role. The cytoplasmic polyadenylation element binding protein 4 (CPEB4) is an RNA binding protein that controls mRNA cytoplasmic polyadenylation and translation. The expression of CPEB4 in paclitaxel-resistant ovarian cancer cell lines and recurrent ovarian tumors relative to counterparts was determined by qRT-PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.

MicroRNA (miRNA) has received widespread attention for its role in several key cellular processes such as cell differentiation, cell proliferation, apoptosis, and autoimmune diseases. Although we now have a good understanding of miRNA expression and function, our knowledge regarding the molecular mechanism of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is still in its infancy. In this review, we will briefly introduce the definition and function of lncRNA and summarize the interactions between lncRNA and miRNA and their research progress in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) from various cancers are able to transdifferentiate into endothelial cells and further form functional blood vessels, indicating another possible resistance mechanism to antiangiogenic agents. However, it remains unclear whether CSCs from hepatocellular carcinoma have the ability to differentiate into endothelial cells, and thus resulting in resistance to antiangiogenic therapy targeting VEGF. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in the self-renewal and differentiation of CSCs, yet, their role in endothelial differentiation of CSCs has been poorly understood.

Nanotechnology has revolutionized cancer treatment in both diagnosis and therapy. Since the initial application of nanoparticles (NPs) in cancer treatment, the main objective of nanotechnology was developing effective nanosystems with high selectivity and specificity for cancer treatment and diagnosis. To achieve this, different encapsulation and conjugation strategies along with surface functionalization techniques have been developed to synthesize anticancer drugs loaded NPs with effective targeting to specific tumor cells.
