American Telemedicine Association: Telestroke Guidelines.

The following telestroke guidelines were developed to assist practitioners in providing assessment, diagnosis, management, and/or remote consultative support to patients exhibiting symptoms and signs consistent with an acute stroke syndrome, using telemedicine communication technologies. Although telestroke practices may include the more broad utilization of telemedicine across the entire continuum of stroke care, with some even consulting on all neurologic emergencies, this document focuses on the acute phase of stroke, including both pre- and in-hospital encounters for cerebrovascular neurological emergencies. These guidelines describe a network of audiovisual communication and computer systems for delivery of telestroke clinical services and include operations, management, administration, and economic recommendations.

Hypothyroid-induced acute compartment syndrome in all extremities.

A critical look at descriptive epidemiology of sexual dysfunction in Asia compared to the rest of the world - a call for evidence-based data.

Recently evidence-based medicine has been applied to comparative epidemiological papers regarding sexual dysfunction that have appeared in the literature. This review is intended to focus the readers on a validated and standardized methodological evidence-based process for preparing such articles. It reviews four key articles that have been published in the English language that have obtained a high evidence-based score for reliability that have included descriptive epidemiology of sexual dysfunctions in men and women in Asia compared to the rest of the world.

Unusual case of subarachnoid haemorrhage in patient with Fabry's disease: case report and literature review.

Fabry's disease is a rare, X linked recessive disease affecting 1 in 40 000 persons. The symptoms result from a lack of or a non-functioning enzyme α galactosidase, which leads to globotriaosylceramide accumulation in the walls of blood vessels. Mortality is generally from cardiac or renal complications and death from subarachnoid haemorrhage is distinctly rare.
