The aim of the study was to compare the performance of various computed tomography (CT) reporting tools, including zonal CT visual score (ZCVS), the number of involved lobes, and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) categorization in predicting adverse outcomes among patients hospitalized due to the lower respiratory symptoms during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Heterotopic ossification on the volar surface of the distal radius in a child with fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva: challenges in surgical excision of a rare condition.

Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) is one of the genetic and developmental forms of heterotopic ossification. We report a case of FOP on the volar surface of the distal radius, located close to the median nerve and radial artery with neurologic symptoms secondary to median nerve entrapment. The patient underwent surgical excision of the heterotopic lesion followed by radiation therapy.

The COVID-19 outbreak has caused anxiety among children with hematology-oncology disease and their families, as it has in every segment of society. In this study, we aimed to detect the anxiety levels of children with hematologic or oncologic disease and of their parents after the COVID-19 outbreak. The sample consisted of 15 patients 12 to 18 years of age receiving treatment in the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Unit in Altinbaş University Medical Faculty Bahçelievler Medikalpark Hospital and 33 parents of the same unit patients between 6 and 18 years of age, and their 35 healthy peers and their parents.

Thirty-one infants who were treated with ibuprofen for closure of PDA were monitored continuously with NIRS. McDonald versus modified Shirodkar rescue cerclage in women with prolapsed fetal membranes.

We compared the efficacy of modified Shirodkar and McDonald rescue cerclage techniques in women with singleton pregnancies. The study sample included 47 women who presented at two tertiary hospitals in Turkey from 2008 to 2017 and underwent rescue cerclage due to cervical incompetence and cervical dilatation with fetal membranes prolapsed into the vagina. The outcomes were compared by cerclage technique used, Shirodkar or McDonald.
