Often, widening of the pubic symphysis occurs with subsequent disruption of posterior pelvic ligamentous structures. Context: Recent advances in diagnostic imaging have made computed tomography (CT) a widely used test in trauma patients. Consequently, the collective radiation burdened sustained by this patient population has increased substantially.
