Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) results in a complex systemic response that is critical to the pathophysiology of late complications and has important effects on outcomes. Omics techniques have expanded our investigational scope and depth into this phenomenon. In particular, metabolomics-the study of small molecules, such as blood products, carbohydrates, amino acids, and lipids-can provide a snapshot of dynamic subcellular processes and thus broaden our understanding of molecular-level pathologic changes that lead to the systemic response after aSAH.

Objective: Prior studies have emphasized the importance of compliance with preoperative dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in patients undergoing TransCarotid artery revascularization (TCAR). Pancreatic cancer serves as the third leading cause of cancer-associated morbidity and mortality in the United States, with a 5-year survival rate of only 12% with an expected increase in incidence and mortality in the coming years. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas constitute most pancreatic malignancies. Certain genetic syndromes, including Lynch syndrome, hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome, hereditary pancreatitis, familial adenomatous polyposis, Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, familial pancreatic cancer mutation, and ataxia telangiectasia, confer a significantly higher risk.

Osteoarthritis can be treated with hyaluronic acid derivatives, such as Durolane manufactured by Bioventus (Hill, 2017), particularly when conventional treatments prove ineffective. Basal cell carcinoma (BCC), the most prevalent form of human cancer, is traditionally treated by surgical and alternative destructive or topical chemical means, each with its advantages, challenges, and drawbacks. We describe our experience treating BCCs with a topical concentrate of proteolytic enzymes enriched in bromelain (CPEEB) sourced from pineapple stems. CPEEB has strong proteolytic, antitumor-proapoptotic, and inflammation modulation activities, and is approved for debridement of deep burns and starting phase 3 trials for chronic wounds.

Background: Bioprosthetic surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) using the Trifecta valve was frequently chosen because of its large opening area and low transvalvular gradient. We reviewed the US Online Prescribers' Digital Reference for the specified administration schedule of medications prescribed to manage coronary heart disease (CHD) and its major risk factors. For arterial hypertension, dosing of terazosin and guanfacine is recommended in the evening and thiazide, thiazide-like, and sulfonamide diuretics morning; Verapamil (Verelan®) morning, its "PM" formulation evening, and long-acting diltiazem (Cardizem® LA), per clinical goal, morning or evening.

Background: Traumatic fibrinolytic dysfunction is often categorized into 3 phenotypes based on the result of thromboelastography (TEG) lysis at 30 minutes (LY30): fibrinolysis shutdown, physiologic fibrinolysis, and hyperfibrinolysis. Majority of the lung adenocarcinomas show a mixture of different histological patterns. The possibility of histologically heterogeneous areas of the adenocarcinoma showing genetic heterogeneity and harboring different driver mutations, with potentially significant clinical impact, has not been adequately addressed.
