Background: Haemorrhoids are very common but their exact prevalence is not known as most of the people suffering from them do not seek medical or surgical advice. The literature states their prevalence to be about 39% and commonly affect people aged between 45-65 years of age. Objective of the study was to compare the outcomes of open haemorrhoidectomy Vs Trans anal Doppler ultrasound guided hemorrhoidal artery ligation with recto-anal repair in 3rd and 4th degree haemorrhoids.

An outcome of emergency vascular surgery performed by general surgeons; our experience in a university hospital of Pakistan and can they substitute vascular surgeons?

Objective: To measure the outcome of emergency vascular surgery performed by general surgeons, and to identify preventable causes of mortality.

Methods: The retrospective study was conducted at the General Surgery Department of Mayo Hospital, King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan, and comprised data between January 2014 and May 2019 related to cases regardless of age and gender that required emergency vascular surgery after diagnosis by a consultant surgeon at the surgical emergency. The cases were analysed from admission till discharge.

Etiology and risk factors of stroke in young adults: A multicentric study.

Objective: The main objective of this research was to assess the risk factors and causes of ischemic stroke in the young population (age less than 50 years).

Methods: This was a prospective multicenter study conducted at Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission General Hospital, Islamabad, and Mayo hospital Lahore from June 2019 to June 2020. In this research, patients with ischemic stroke, aged 15-50 years were included.

Background: Omenn syndrome is a rare, autosomal recessive disorder. It is a disorder that stems from severe combined immunodeficiency in an affected individual. The frequency of occult cervical metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients - A cross sectional study.

Objective: To determine the frequency of occult cervical metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinoma patients.

Methods: This cross sectional study was conducted in the department of maxillofacial surgery, Mayo Hospital, Lahore from July 31st, 2015 to January 31st, 2016 on 100 patients of oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) having clinically and radiologically negative nodes. Prophylactic functional neck dissection was done in each patient and was sent to the pathology lab for evaluation of any occult metastasis.

Background/aims: To determine success rate and complications associated with nasal transposition of the split lateral rectus muscle (NTSLR) for treating strabismus from 3rd-nerve palsy.

Methods: An international, multicentre, registry of patients with unilateral 3rd-nerve palsy treated with NTSLR was created. Patients with concurrent surgery on the contralateral eye were excluded.

Hematological and hematopoietic cells malignancies of the genes and hematopoietic cells are associated with the genetic mutation, often at the chromosomal level. The standard cytogenetic study is widely accepted as one of the main diagnostics and prognostic determinants in patients. Therefore, the current descriptive and cross-sectional study sought to determine the cytogenetic analysis of frequent hematological malignancies in Pakistan.

We report the case of a 68-year-old female patient who presented to the emergency room with the chief complaint of a skin rash and itching all over her body, developing within a few minutes of insulin injection.
