Given the rising incidence of AF with age and its association with conditions, such as diabetes, there is growing interest in exploring pharmacological interventions that might mitigate AF risk. Metformin, a widely prescribed antihyperglycemic agent for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), has demonstrated various cardiovascular benefits, including anti-inflammatory and antioxidative properties, leading to speculations about its potential role in AF prevention.

Introduction Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major global health concern, and early prediction is essential for managing high-risk individuals. N-terminal prohormone of brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) has emerged as a crucial biomarker for predicting AF. While most studies have concentrated on cohorts already diagnosed with AF or other cardiac diseases, this research investigates the predictive value of NT-proBNP for AF development in a population without prior AF diagnosis.

Background: Bempedoic Acid (BA) is a novel drug that has a potential to serve as an alternative to statins to decrease lipid levels and improve cardiovascular disease (CVD) outcomes, particularly for statin-intolerant individuals. However, insufficient statistical power has limited our understanding of the efficacy and safety of BA. This meta-analysis utilizes the latest data to improve our knowledge of BA's effects on lipids and CVD with increased statistical power.

Secretory carcinoma, a triple-negative benign tumor, is one of the rarest malignancies of the breast which rarely metastasizes. Surgical excision via lumpectomy or mastectomy is the mainstay of treatment, but in young patients, mastopexy can be a better option cosmetically. A 26-year-old woman presented with a lump in her right breast that, on ultrasonography, was revealed to be a multi lobulated solid lesion measuring 25 × 16 mm in the retro areolar region at a 4 o'clock position.

Background: The Liliequist membrane (LM) represents a crucial yet challenging anatomical structure in neuroanatomy. First observed in 1875 and later elucidated by Bengt Liliequist in 1956, the LM's precise anatomical description and boundaries remain complex. Its significance extends to neurosurgery, impacting various procedures like endoscopic third ventriculocisternostomies, aneurysm and tumor surgeries, treatment of suprasellar arachnoid cysts, and managing perimesencephalic hemorrhages.

Addressing vaccine scepticism and misinformation is crucial in African nations to build public trust in malaria prevention. Therefore, including a wider range of demographics in vaccine trials is necessary for equitable representation and achieving herd immunity against malaria.
