DDX41 -associated cytopenia(s)/myeloid neoplasms ( DDX41 -C/MNs) are an emerging pathologic entity. We examined the hematopathologic findings in DDX41 -C/MNs with both a germline and somatic DDX41 mutation ( DDX41 -C/MNs-GS). We reviewed the peripheral blood and bone marrow (BM) findings from treatment-naive patients with DDX41 -C/MNs-GS.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates neurobehavioral dysregulation (NBD), which includes neuropsychiatric symptoms linked to repetitive head impacts, particularly in former contact sport athletes.
  • Through analyses involving questionnaires from 178 former football players, researchers identified four subconstructs of NBD: explosivity, emotional dyscontrol, impulsivity, and affective lability.
  • The results revealed four symptom profiles among participants, highlighting the complexity of NBD and serving as a basis for future research on its diagnostic criteria and neurobiological aspects.

The nonalcoholic steatohepatitis clinical research network (NASH-CRN) system is commonly used for histologic assessment of disease activity and fibrosis in NASH. Despite this, the system does not fully capture the range of disease activity and fibrosis. As such, an expanded NAS (E-NAS) grading and staging system with a calculated E-NAS index was developed by our group.

Purpose: To assess the practicality of employing a commercial knowledge-based planning tool (RapidPlan) to generate adapted intact prostate and prostate bed volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans on iterative cone-beam computed tomography (iCBCT) datasets.

Methods And Materials: Intact prostate and prostate bed RapidPlan models were trained utilizing planning data from 50 and 44 clinical cases, respectively. To ensure that refined models were capable of producing adequate clinical plans with a single optimization, models were tested with 50 clinical planning CT datasets by comparing dose-volume histogram (DVH) and plan quality metric (PQM) values between clinical and RapidPlan-generated plans.

Fungal Head and Neck Dermatitis: Current Understanding and Management.

Clin Rev Allergy Immunol

June 2024

Department of Dermatology & Cutaneous Biology Research Institute, Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, South Korea.

Article Synopsis
  • Head and neck dermatitis (HND) is a severe form of atopic dermatitis that primarily affects seborrheic areas and significantly impacts patients’ quality of life, with treatment being complicated by the ineffectiveness of usual topical therapies and the potential for dupilumab-associated dermatitis (DAHND).
  • Research indicates that fungi, particularly Malassezia species, play a crucial role in HND development, as they activate the immune system and cause inflammation via specific immune pathways.
  • While antifungals show promise in treating HND, particularly in oral form, the long-term effects are uncertain; new therapies like Janus kinase inhibitors and OX40 inhibitors are being explored, and factors like host microbiome variations could lead to more
