Dyspnea, the subjective sensation of breathlessness, is a distressing and potentially traumatic symptom. Dyspnea associated with mechanical ventilation may contribute to intensive care unit (ICU) associated post-traumatic stress disorder and impaired quality of life. Dyspnea is both difficult to alleviate and a cause of significant distress to patients, their loved ones, and care providers People living with neuromuscular disease, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or myasthenia gravis (MG), often rely on a ventilator at late stages of illness due to complications of progressive respiratory muscle weakness and paralysis.

Laryngeal transplant (LT) is a promising option to restore quality of life in patients with severe laryngeal dysfunction or a laryngectomy. These patients may be tracheostomy tube dependent or gastrostomy tube dependent and may lose their ability to verbally communicate. The loss of these important functions frequently results in social isolation and a severe decrease in quality of life.

Introduction: Mental health among medical students is an area that has been increasingly garnering world-wide attention. Yet, despite this increased attention, research related to anxiety disorders in Saudi Arabia remain limited. This study aims to address this gap by assessing the prevalence of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) as well as explore its association with students' sociodemographic factors and academic performance among medical students in a Saudi Arabian institute that has a diverse, multicultural student body.

Osteochondritis dissecans of the elbow is a rare but debilitating pathology typically found in the adolescent repetitive overhead athlete. In the setting of unstable lesions, mechanical symptoms, or deteriorating function despite appropriate conservative management, surgical osteochondral allograft transplantation of the capitellum is a viable option for even large lesions (>10 mm), with minimal morbidity and good return of function. We describe a technique for performing a large osteochondral allograft transplantation of the capitellum.

Little is known about the long-term survivorship after CAR T-cell therapy.
Methods: We previously reported the results of 298 patients who were leukapheresed with the intent to receive standard-of-care axi-cel (n = 275 infused) after two or more previous lines of therapy at a median follow-up of 12.

Objective: Avacopan, an activated complement factor 5 receptor antagonist, has been approved as adjunct therapy for severe active antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV). Current evidence supports the management of AAV presenting with diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH) by administering glucocorticoids combined with either rituximab or cyclophosphamide in addition to supportive care. The role of avacopan in patients with DAH as a primary severe disease manifestation of AAV has not been well established.

Rationale And Objectives: Evidence is building in support of the clinical utility of atherosclerotic plaque imaging by computed tomography angiography (CTA). There is increasing organized activity to embrace non-calcified plaque (NCP) as a formally defined biomarker for clinical trials, and high-risk plaque (HRP) for clinical care, as the most relevant measures for the field to advance and worthy of community efforts to validate. Yet the ability to assess the quantitative performance of any given specific solution to make these measurements or classifications is not available.

Anterocollis (AC) and retrocollis (RC) are less common cervical dystonia (CD) subtypes that are often under-represented in CD clinical trials. Herein we describe real-world demographics, disease characteristics, and treatment response to onabotulinumtoxinA (onabotA) in AC or RC patients from an observational, multicenter, prospective registry, CD PROBE. After three onabotA treatments, outcomes (CDIP-58, PGIC, CGIC, CD severity, TWSTRS) in patients with predominant AC or RC were compared to torticollis (TC) and all CD subtypes combined.

This position paper, led by the NRG Oncology Particle Therapy Work Group, focuses on the concept of relative biologic effect (RBE) in clinical proton therapy (PT), with the goal of providing recommendations for the next-generation clinical trials with PT on the best practice of investigating and using RBE, which could deviate from the current standard proton RBE value of 1.1 relative to photons. In part 1, current clinical utilization and practice are reviewed, giving the context and history of RBE.
