Introduction: The standard treatment of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) is surgery with perioperative chemotherapy. A tumor response to systemic therapy confirmed at pathology examination is the strongest predictor of survival, but it cannot be adequately predicted in the preoperative setting. This bi-institutional retrospective study investigates whether CT-based radiomics of CRLM and peritumoral tissue provides a reliable non-invasive estimation of the pathological tumor response to chemotherapy.

Richter syndrome (RS) represents a major unmet need in the lymphoma field, being refractory to chemoimmunotherapy and targeted agents. The BCL-2 inhibitor venetoclax in combination with dose-adjusted EPOCH-R chemoimmunotherapy showed promising efficacy in patients affected by RS. However, responses were not durable, suggesting the need for further treatment optimization.

Objective: Carbon dioxide (CO) angiography has emerged as a viable alternative to regular iodinated contrast medium (ICM) for guiding endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of a standardised EVAR procedure using only CO angiography.
Methods: A prospective, multicentre, national study enrolled consecutive patients between January 2023 and January 2024 with asymptomatic abdominal aortic aneurysms measuring ≥ 55 mm and for whom a standard endovascular graft (instructions for use) was anatomically feasible.

Introduction: To confirm real-world clinical practice results reported with anatomically fixed bifurcated endograft, a physician-initiated study was designed-AFX2-LIVE registry.
Materials And Methods: From November 2019 to August 2021, investigators enrolled all consecutive patients treated with AFX2 (Endologix Inc., Irvine, CA, USA) endograft.

Objectives: To evaluate the results of isolated left subclavian artery in-situ fenestration (ISF) during 'zone 2' thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) using a new adjustable needle puncturing device system.
Methods: It is a multicentre, retrospective, physician-initiated cohort study of patients treated from 28 July 2021 to 3 April 2024. Inclusion criteria were isolate left subclavian artery revascularization for elective or urgent/emergent 'zone 2' TEVAR.

Background: Genetic And Morphological Evaluation (GAME) score is the newest prognostic model for patient with colorectal liver metastases (CRLMs). Pathological and radiological responses to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) are key factors for prognostic stratification of these patients. The present study aims to evaluate the GAME-score's ability to predict pathological and radiologic responses to NAC.

In colorectal cancer (CRC), model availability is limited by a dearth of large-scale collections of patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) and paired tumoroids from metastatic disease, where experimental therapies are typically tested. Here we introduce XENTURION, an open-science resource offering a platform of 128 PDX models from patients with metastatic CRC, along with matched PDX-derived tumoroids.

Despite the introduction of targeted vaccines and screening protocols, locally advanced cervical cancer represents a median proportion of 37% among all cervical carcinomas. Compared to early stages, it presents significantly lower cure rates, with a 5-year disease-free survival rate of 68% and a 5-year overall survival rate of 74%. According to current guidelines, definitive radiotherapy with concomitant chemotherapy represents the gold standard for locally advanced cervical cancer treatment.

The global population is experiencing an aging trend; however, this increased longevity is not necessarily accompanied by improved health in older age. A significant consequence of this demographic shift is the rising prevalence of multiple chronic illnesses, posing challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. Aging is a major risk factor for multimorbidity, which marks a progressive decline in resilience and a dysregulation of multisystem homeostasis.

Purpose: Oral metronomic cyclophosphamide (OMC) implicates the daily administration of low doses of chemotherapy. Its antitumor activity combined with an oral administration route and a good toxicity profile makes OMC an attractive option for heavily pretreated patients. We retrospectively evaluated OMC's clinical benefit and objective response in recurrent ovarian cancer patients.

Musculoskeletal pain is a major burden in our society. Management of musculoskeletal pain or injuries includes both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches, including heat therapy (HT). HT is a well-established treatment option due to its ability to promote muscle relaxation, enhance blood circulation, and modulate nociceptors with a good safety profile.

Objective: The aim of this study was to report the outcomes of endovascular urgent thoracoabdominal aortic (TAAA) repair, using an off-the-shelf preloaded inner branch device (E-nside; Artivion).
Methods: Data from a physician-initiated national multicenter registry, including patients treated with E-nside endograft (INBREED) were prospectively collected (2020-2024); only urgent cases were included in this study. Primary outcomes were technical success and mortality at 30 days.

Background: For many tumors, radiomics provided a relevant prognostic contribution. This study tested whether the computed tomography (CT)-based textural features of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and peritumoral tissue improve the prediction of survival after resection compared with the standard clinical indices.
Methods: All consecutive patients affected by ICC who underwent hepatectomy at six high-volume centers (2009-2019) were considered for the study.

Background: Advances in the treatment of gynecological cancer have led to improvements in survival but also an increase in menopausal symptoms, especially in young women with premature iatrogenic menopause.
Methods: A narrative review was performed to clarify the possibility of prescribing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) after hormone-dependent gynecological cancers (ovarian cancer [OC], cervical adenocarcinoma [AC], and endometrial cancer [EC]).
Results: HRT can be prescribed to patients with early-stage, grade I-II OC who experience bothersome menopausal symptoms non-responsive to alternative non-hormone therapy after optimal surgery.

Intrabiliary growth (IG) is an unusual modality for colorectal metastases to spread. Relatively little is known about this condition because large series are lacking. The aim of the study was to compare the surgical and oncological outcomes of patients with or without IG.

Background: Several earlier studies showed a female predominance in idiopathic adult-onset dystonia (IAOD) affecting the craniocervical area and a male preponderance in limb dystonia. However, sex-related differences may result from bias inherent to study design. Moreover, information is lacking on whether sex-related differences exist in expressing other dystonia-associated features and dystonia spread.

Open partial horizontal laryngectomies (OPHLs) represent a valuable therapeutic option for tumors of the intermediate T-category and, in selected cases, for locally advanced tumors with low-volume extra-laryngeal extension. The eligibility of patients treated with this type of surgery has increased with the introduction of the modular approach to OPHL planning. This strategy follows the introduction of the classification proposed by the European Laryngological Society, based on the extent of horizontal resection.
