Vulvovaginal enterobiasis is underreported and an often-missed diagnosis in prepubertal girls presenting with isolated nocturnal vulvar pruritus. An 8-year-old-girl with intense nocturnal vulvar itching for 4 months was diagnosed with enterobiasis after microscopy of a vaginal swab revealed Enterobius vermicularis (pinworm) ova. The child and her family were treated with two doses of oral albendazole, 2 weeks apart, resulting in symptom resolution.

Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of iodine excess in pregnant mothers on thyroid function, growth and neurodevelopment in the neonates when assessed at 12 weeks of age.
Methodology: This prospective study enrolled term neonates with birth weight >2500 gm of mothers having urine iodine concentration (UIC) ≥500 µg/L documented in the third trimester of the peripartum period. Neonatal TSH was collected by heel prick on dried blood spots within 24-72 hours of age and measured by time-resolved fluroimmunoassay.

Purpose: Deep-seated abscesses can be caused by a wide array of bacteria in various anatomical sites, the precise identification of which is crucial for implementing organism-specific treatments which can reduce morbidity and mortality. MALDI-TOF MS is a powerful proteomic method for the swift and accurate identification of anaerobic organisms. The aim of this study was to investigate deep-seated infections by MALDI-TOF MS (in comparison to VITEK®2 ANC ID card and phenotypic biochemical tests) and to determine the susceptibility pattern of identified microorganisms.

Background: There is a paucity of literature on the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies among pediatric patients with underlying kidney disorders; few serosurveys among healthy children have shown seropositivity of 20-65% after different waves of infections.
Methods: The study had a cross-sectional design and was conducted between January 2023 and July 2023; 163 children and adolescents (1-18 years) with nephrotic syndrome and chronic kidney disease (CKD) were screened for Anti-Spike SARS-COV-2 IgG antibodies as detected by a quantitative chemiluminescence immunoassay. Children with nephrotic syndrome, both steroid sensitive (SSNS) and steroid resistant (SRNS) were enrolled during disease remission.

Background: While the utility of beta-2 microglobulin (β2M) has been explored in various renal conditions to identify tubulointerstitial damage, it has not been adequately studied in nephrotic syndrome. The primary objective of the study was to compare urinary β2M levels in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS) and steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome (SRNS) in disease remission.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study was done at a tertiary care hospital between April 2019 and March 2020.
