Effect of 660-nm LED photobiomodulation on the proliferation and chondrogenesis of meniscus-derived stem cells (MeSCs).

Meniscus-derived stem cells (MeSCs), a unique type of MSC, have outstanding advantages in meniscal cytotherapy and tissue engineering, but the effects and molecular mechanisms of PBM on MeSCs are still unclear. We used 660-nm LED light with different energy densities to irradiate six human MeSC samples and tested their proliferation rate via cell counting, chondrogenic differentiation capacity via the DMMB assay, mitochondrial activity via the MTT assay, and gene expression via qPCR. The proliferation ability, chondrogenic capacity and mitochondrial activity of the 18 J/cm group were greater than those of the 4 J/cm and control groups.

We investigated 1805 cases of breast abscesses during lactation to estimate the risk factors for multiple breast abscesses during lactation. A total of 2000 cases of breast abscesses during lactation were investigated using an online questionnaire, and 1805 cases with complete data were analyzed. The survey response rate was 90%.

Methods: Between July 18, 2017, and December 29, 2019, this multicentric, randomized, two-arm, clinical trial was performed involving 15 medical centers. Infertile women meeting HSG indications were randomly assigned to an oil group and a water group.

Lactational Breast Abscesses Caused by Methicillin-Resistant or Methicillin-Sensitive Infection and Therapeutic Effect of Ultrasound-Guided Aspiration.

We investigated whether (1) there are any differences in lactational breast abscesses between patients from whom methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and those from whom methicillin-sensitive (MSSA) were isolated from pus samples and (2) there are differences in the effects of ultrasound-guided aspiration. The clinical data of 171 patients with lactational breast abscesses treated by ultrasound-guided aspiration in Beijing from January to July 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into MSSA infection ( = 132) and MRSA infection ( = 39) groups according to their bacterial culture results.

Human epithelial ovarian cancer cells expressing CD105, CD44 and CD106 surface markers exhibit increased invasive capacity and drug resistance.

The high rate of mortality associated with ovarian cancer (OC) is due in part to the development of resistance to chemotherapy, which allows the resistant tumour cells to invade and metastasise. Clarifying the mechanistic basis for drug resistance may reveal novel avenues for treatment. The present study investigated the mechanism of paclitaxel (PTX) resistance in human epithelial OC by evaluating the expression of stem cell-associated cell surface markers endoglin (CD105), CD44 antigen and vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (CD106), in association with the malignant potential of the human OC OVCAR3 cell line and its PTX-resistant derivative OC3/TAX300.

[Characteristics of blood lipids levels and relevant factor analysis during pregnancy].

Objective: To study the characteristics of blood lipids levels' change during pregnancy, and to discuss the relationships between the blood lipid level and the age, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes and other pregnancy complications.

Methods: From January to September 2015, we enrolled 2 907 pregnant women admitted to our hospital for regular checks as control group, 190 cases in gestational hypertension group, 258 cases in gestational diabetes mellitus group. The control group was divided into first trimester (≤12 w) second trimester (20 to 26 w) and third trimester (≥28 w) groups; in second trimester group, patients were further divided into the certain age group (<35years old) and elderly group (≥35 years old); blood lipid levels including serum levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were detected in all groups.
