MicroRNA-10a-5p suppresses cancer proliferation and division in human cervical cancer by targeting BDNF.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect and mechanism of microRNA (miR)-10a-5p in human cervical cancer. The expression level of miR-10-5p in cervical cancer lines was assessed using reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). In cervical cancer HeLa and SiHa cells, miR-10-5p was ectopically overexpressed by lentiviral transduction.

Novel genetic locus at MHC region for esophageal squamous cell carcinoma in Chinese populations.

Background: Our previous genome-wide association study (GWAS) identified three independent single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in human major histocompatibility complex (MHC) region showing association with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). In this study, we increased GWAS sample size on MHC region and performed validation in an independent ESCC cases and normal controls with aim to find additional loci at MHC region showing association with an increased risk to ESCC.

Methods: The 1,077 ESCC cases and 1,733 controls were genotyped using Illumina Human 610-Quad Bead Chip, and 451 cases and 374 controls were genotyped using Illumina Human 660W-Quad Bead Chip.

The injury and inflammatory reaction of endothelial cells is one of the important factors causing AS. However, its molecular mechanism still needs further studying.

Clinical study on the influence of phloroglucinol on plasma angiotensin II and D-Dimer index in patients with severe pregnancy-induced hypertension.

To observe the effect of phloroglucinol on plasma angiotensin II and D-dimer index when it was applied to patients with severe pregnancy-induced hypertension. 212 cases of severe pregnancy-induced hypertension patients diagnosed clinically were selected to be randomly divided into the research group and the control group. The research groups were given phloroglucinol, while the control groups were given magnesium sulfate.

Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery versus open resection of lung metastases from colorectal cancer.

This study aimed to compare the short and long-term survival outcomes between video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) and open resection of lung metastases from colorectal cancer. Between January 2006 and January 2013, 57 patients underwent VATS of lung metastases from colorectal cancer. These patients were compared with a consecutive matched group of 57 patients who underwent open resection within the same period.
