Does coiling of the proximal end of the ureteral stent affect stent-related symptoms?

Objective: To evaluate the impact of coiling of the proximal end of the ureteral stent on stent-related symptoms (SRS) in in subgroup of patients undergoing preoperative ureteral stenting preceding flexible retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).

Materials And Methods: We performed a prospective comparative study including patients undergoing stent placement 7-10 days prior to RIRS. Patients were divided into 2 groups; in Group 1 coiling of proximal end of the DJ was present, while in Group 2 coiling was absent.

Clinical and molecular spectrum along with genotype-phenotype correlation of 25 patients diagnosed with 3 M syndrome: a study from Turkey.

Unlabelled: 3 M syndrome is a well-known autosomal recessive skeletal genetic disorder caused by biallelic pathogenic variants in the CUL7, OBSL1, and CCDC8 genes. Affected individuals exhibit profound pre- and postnatal growth retardation, distinctive facial features with normal intelligence. This study aims to provide insight into the comprehensive evaluation of clinical, laboratory, and radiological findings, expand the mutational spectrum of the disease, and establish a genotype-phenotype correlation in the present cases.

The Effect of Graded Motor Imagery on Pain and Function in Individuals with Knee Osteoarthritis: A Comparative Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objective: To examine whether graded motor imagery (GMI) was as effective as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) in improving pain and functionality in patients with knee osteoarthritis (PwKOA).

Design: Forty-six PwKOA were randomized (1:1) into the GMI and the TENS groups. Both groups participated in home-based and functional exercises.

Objectives: Anastomotic leaks are the most feared complications after surgery in patients with Crohn's disease. Identifying associated risk factors is crucial for prevention. We aimed to evaluate possible risk factors for anastomotic complications in our case series.

Examining the Burnout of Audiologists in Türkiye: Relationships With Quality of Work Life and Psychological Well-Being.

Purpose: Although burnout among audiologists has been studied in various countries, there is no research yet that examines this issue in Türkiye, where working conditions and sociodemographic factors may differ from those in other countries. Considering the unique working conditions and sociodemographic factors, this study aimed to investigate the burnout levels of Turkish audiologists. Additionally, this study will explore the impact of various sociodemographic variables on burnout, work-related quality of life, and depression to gain a deeper understanding of the specific challenges faced by audiologists in Türkiye.

The Effect of Immediate Dentin Sealing Using Different Universal Adhesives on the Bond Strength of Pretreated Monolithic Zirconia to Dentin and Microscopic Morphological Alterations.

This study evaluated the effects of immediate dentin sealing (IDS) using different universal adhesives on microtensile bond strength (μTBS) of pretreated monolithic translucent tetragonal polycrystalline zirconia-based CAD/CAM restoration to dentin and microscopic morphological alterations. Mid-coronal dentin were obtained from 32 human molars and randomly allocated into 8 groups according to the presence/absence of IDS, universal adhesives for IDS (Single Bond Universal/SBU, Clearfil Quick Bond/CUQ, Optibond Universal/OBU) and zirconia surface pretreatments (tribochemical silica coating-30 μm CoJet particles/TSC, sandblasting-50 μm AlO/SB): Group TSC, Group TSC+SBU, Group TSC+CUQ, Group TSC+OBU, Group SB, Group SB+SBU, Group SB+CUQ, Group SB+OBU. CAD/CAM restorations (Lava Plus High Translucency Zirconia Disc) were produced, luted, and subjected to 10.

Designing new compounds from existing chemotherapeutic drugs to enhance inhibitory effects on tumor cells while overcoming multidrug resistance is one of the important strategies for new drug discovery in medicinal chemistry. A new series of urea and thiourea derivatives based on Lenalidomide as potential anticancer agents have been designed and synthesized. TiO nanoparticles are photocatalytic, generate reactive oxygen, and can be harmful to aquatic biota. We have studied the toxic effects of nTiO combined with high CO levels in water. We exposed goldfish to environmentally relevant concentrations of nTiO and CO levels.

Purpose: To examine the impact of the worst patterns of invasion (WPOI) on survival outcomes and possible implications for adjuvant treatment decisions in squamous cell oral cavity cancer patients.

Methods: The loco-regional progression-free survival (LRPFS) and the distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) were calculated for 162 patients. Univariate and multivariate analyses were done according to prognostic predictors of stage (early/T1-2 or N0; locally advanced /T3-4 or N +), grade, depth of invasion, WPOI, perineural (PNI), and lymphovascular (LVI) invasion and margin status.

Comparison of Hematological Markers between Right Ureteral Stone and Acute Appendicitis.

This conundrum of patients with acute appendicitis and right ureteral stones frequently presents itself to emergency physicians. The hematological parameters of patients suffering from acute appendicitis and right ureteral stones were compared in this study.

Comparison of syndromic and non-syndromic craniosynostosis cases followed in a tertiary pediatric intensive care unit: a case control study.

Introduction: Craniosynostosis, marked by premature skull suture closure, manifests as isolated or syndromic cases. While isolated cases are more common, syndromic craniosynostoses are associated with a range of complications. This study aims to compare postoperative outcomes in isolated and syndromic craniosynostosis, hypothesizing greater complications in the latter.
