Medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a serious condition associated with the use of antiresorptive and antiangiogenic medications. Despite extensive research, the pathophysiology of MRONJ remains poorly understood. Bibliometric analysis provides insights into the academic impact of research, helping identify influential works and emerging trends in this field.

Evaluating risk factors and complications in mandibular ramus block grafting: a retrospective cohort study.

Objectives: This retrospective cohort study aimed to identify the complications and risk factors associated with alveolar grafting using autologous mandibular ramus grafts, guided by the research question: What are the complications encountered in patients undergoing alveolar bone grafting using autologous mandibular ramus block and what are the risk factors associated with the development of these complications?

Materials And Methods: The study included 70 patients who underwent alveolar crest augmentation with autologous mandibular ramus block grafting. Intraoperative, early postoperative, and late postoperative complications were analyzed, as were various risk factors.

Results: The results showed that the majority of patients had successful outcomes with minimal complications.

Melatonin Related Acneiform Lesions: A Case Report and Potential Mechanism.

Melatonin (MLT) is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland according to the circadian rhythm, which is generated by the suprachiasmatic nucleus. The sleep-promoting effect of exogenous MLT is used to treat sleep disorders. The most common side effects reported are headache, somnolence, palpitations, and abdominal pain.

The Prevalence of Cleft Lip and Palate Patients: A Single-Center Experience for 17 Years.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to report the prevalence of cleft lip and palate (CLP), isolated cleft palate (CP), isolated cleft lip (CL), and median cleft (MC) applied in Marmara University School of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics.

Methods: There were 1058 patients who applied to the center between 2000 and 2017. A total of 1026 patients were included in the study.

Objective: Cephalometry can be measured with traditionally conventional analysing methods (hand tracing), as well as using computers. Many dental softwares have been developed for this purpose. The reliability of these programs are often compared with the conventional method.

Evaluation of the Impact of Interdisciplinary Case-Based Courses in Dental Education on Smile Evaluation Skills of Undergraduate Students.

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to compare the perception of smile aesthetic between 3rd-, 4th-, and 5th-year dental students to identify if interdisciplinary courses have an impact on the attitudes of students.

Methods: A total of 118 dental students (3rd-, 4th-, and 5th-year; N=43, 43, and 32, respectively) assessed the aesthetic attractiveness of four smile photographs (normal, high, low, and asymmetric smile lines). To enhance the crown, length-to-width ratio and color Digital Smile Design (DSD) were applied to all photographs, and then scoring was performed by using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS).

Orthodontic Extrusion with Circumferential Supracrestal Fiberotomy: A Report of Two Cases.

Surgical extrusion, surgical crown lengthening, and orthodontic extrusion (OE) with circumferential supracrestal fiberotomy (CSF) are reported as effective methods in cases when clinical crowns are destroyed. The aim of these case reports was to evaluate the results of OE+CSF in a canine and a mandibular second molar tooth. Introduction: Physical activity has been found to be related with many health benefits. Our aim was to investigate the effect of chronic moderate exercise from acute stress on nicotine and cigarette smoke exposed rats.

Methods: Male Sprague Dawley rats (200-250g, n = 48) were divided into 6 groups as non-exercised, exercised, smoke exposed, smoke exposed and exercised, nicotine applied, and nicotine applied and exercised.

Resveratrol protects against methotrexate-induced hepatic injury in rats.

Purpose: The aim of this study to investigate the possible protective effect of resveratrol on some liver and serum/plasma parameters in methotrexate induced toxicity in rats. Methotrexate is used widely to treat various neoplastic diseases such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia, lymphoma, solid cancers, and autoimmune diseases. We hypothesized that resveratrol has a potential to decrease the oxidant damage in MTX-induced hepatic injury.

The study of the age of becoming edentulous in the last 20 years in Turkey.

The aim of this study was to determine the age of becoming edentulous and make a comparison between the patients examined in 1987 and in 2007 at the Dental School, University of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey. A total of 680 patients (336 in 1987 and 344 in 2007) visiting the Dental School were examined. Some of the patients had just their teeth drawn, or had already became edentulous before, and were sent to the Department of Prosthodontics, for prosthodontic treatment of their edentulous mandible or maxilla.

Posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy for restoring the mandible with dental implants: a clinical report.

Posterior maxillary segmental osteotomy (PMSO) is an alternative option that enables prosthodontic restoration with an implant-supported fixed partial denture. A clinical evaluation of ceramic inlays bonded with different luting agents.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical performance of a fired ceramic inlay system bonded with three different luting agents.

Materials And Methods: A total of 45 Ducera LFC ceramic inlays (12 in premolars, 33 in molars) were placed in 26 patients. Fifteen of the inlays were inserted with one of three different luting agents: (1) Variolink High Viscosity, (2) Enforce, and (3) Geristore.

In vivo and in vitro study of fungal presence and growth on three tissue conditioning materials on implant supported complete denture wearers.

In this study three type of tissue conditioning materials were used in vitro and in vivo to investigate the presence and growth of Candida albicans, considered to be the pathogenic member of the genus. In vitro test results of different tissue conditioners showed that they have a tendency to have an inhibiting effect on C. albicans at the third day of incubation.

Nickel-titanium coil springs and repelling magnets: a comparison of two different intra-oral molar distalization techniques.

The aim of this study was to compare two intra-oral molar distalization procedures, involving 15 cases with Class II molar relationships. Magnetic devices were applied to the upper right first molars in each case, while nickel-titanium coil springs were used against the upper left first molars, for a period of 3 months. Measurements were made from lateral cephalograms and from photocopies of models taken before and after the distalization procedure.

Cephalometric evaluation of crib therapy for cases of mixed dentition (open bite).

The effect of crib therapy for the treatment of cases of open bite was investigated. Extrusion of the lower and upper incisors and intrusion of the lower first molars were the most significant effects of the appliance. Intrusion of the lower molars resulted in decreased lower facial height.
