Background: Antegrade access through the origin of the internal iliac and direct percutaneous access under cross-sectional imaging guidance are commonly used for embolization of internal iliac artery aneurysms, pseudoaneurysms, or endoleaks. Here, we report superior gluteal artery retrograde access to treat internal iliac artery mycotic pseudoaneurysm in a patient with failed direct percutaneous access.
Case Presentation: We present a 65-year-old female with a history of diverticulitis and sigmoidectomy.

Background: Prolonged dwelling time of inferior vena cava (IVC) filters has been shown to increase the need for the use of complex IVC filter retrieval techniques. In this report, we describe a case of complex retrieval of an IVC filter with prolonged dwelling time, which was temporarily accompanied by severe bradycardia and hypotension.
Case Presentation: Fifty-nine-year-old male patient past medical history of morbid obesity, atrial fibrillation status post-ablation, obstructive sleep apnea, and end-stage renal disease presented for IVC filter retrieval 16 years after placement.

Targeted protein degradation is a fast-evolving therapeutic strategy to target even the traditionally undruggable target proteins. Contrary to the traditional small-molecule inhibitors of enzyme or receptor antagonists that bind the active site pockets in the target protein, molecular glue degraders facilitate interaction of target proteins with E3 ubiquitin ligases by stabilizing the ternary complex and induce physical proximity, thereby triggering ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation. AR plays a key role in all stages of prostate cancer.

Regulatory T cells (Tregs) possess a wide range of mechanisms for immune suppression. Among them, Granzyme B (GzmB) and perforin expressed by Tregs were shown to inhibit tumor clearance in previous reports, which contradicted the canonical roles of these cytotoxic molecules expressed by cytotoxic T cells and NK cells in antitumor immune responses. Given the ability of the tumor to manipulate the microenvironment, Treg-derived GzmB function may represent an important approach to aid in tumor growth as well as facilitating tumor metastasis.

Overexpression of androgen receptor (AR) is the primary cause of castration-resistant prostate cancer, although mechanisms upregulating AR transcription in this context are not well understood. Our RNA-seq studies revealed that SMAD3 knockdown decreased levels of AR and AR target genes, whereas SMAD4 or SMAD2 knockdown had little or no effect. ChIP-seq analysis showed that SMAD3 knockdown decreased global binding of AR to chromatin.

Purpose: Idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) is an autologous B-cell maturation antigen-directed chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy approved for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) on the basis of the phase II pivotal KarMMa trial, which demonstrated best overall and ≥ complete response rates of 73% and 33%, respectively. We report clinical outcomes with standard-of-care (SOC) ide-cel under the commercial Food and Drug Administration label.
Methods: Data were retrospectively collected from patients with RRMM who underwent leukapheresis as of February 28, 2022, at 11 US institutions with intent to receive SOC ide-cel.

Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of intercostobrachial nerve (ICBN) cryoneurolysis for pain control in patients with postmastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS).
Materials And Methods: Fourteen patients with PMPS were prospectively enrolled into this clinical trial after a positive response to a diagnostic computed tomography (CT)-guided percutaneous block of the ICBN. Participants subsequently underwent CT-guided percutaneous cryoneurolysis of the same nerve and were observed on postprocedural Days 10, 90, and 180.

The impact of asparaginases on plasma asparagine and glutamine is well established. However, the effect of asparaginases, particularly those derived from (also called crisantaspase), on circulating levels of other amino acids is unknown. We examined comprehensive plasma amino acid panel measurements in healthy immunodeficient/immunocompetent mice as well as in preclinical mouse models of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) using long-acting crisantaspase, and in an AML clinical study (NCT02283190) using short-acting crisantaspase.

Heterogeneous ribonuclear protein A18 (hnRNP A18) is an RNA binding protein (RBP) involved in the hypoxic cellular stress response and regulation of cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) expression in melanoma, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer solid tumors. hnRNP A18 is comprised of an N-terminal structured RNA recognition motif (RMM) and a C-terminal intrinsically disordered domain (IDD). Extrahepatic nucleic acid delivery using polymers typically requires the synthesis and purification of custom monomers, post-synthetic modifications, and incorporation of additional excipients to augment their stability, endosomal escape, and in vivo effectiveness. Here, we report the development of a single-component and excipient-free, polyester-based nucleic acid delivery nanoparticle platform comprising ionizable -methyldiethanolamine (MDET) and various hydrophobic alkyl diols (Cp) that achieves lung-selective nucleic acid transfection in vivo. PolyMDET and polyMDET-Cp polyplexes displayed high serum and enzymatic stability, while delivering pDNA or mRNA to "hard-to-transfect" innate immune cells.

In this review, we discuss the potential for NKT cells to serve as biodrugs in viral infections and in cancer. NKT cells are being investigated for their use as a prognostic biomarker, an immune adjuvant, and as a form of cellular therapy.
