To determine reference values for the foramen ovale (FO) area of fetal hearts by three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound using spatio-temporal image correlation (STIC) method in the rendering mode, as well as applicability in fetuses with congenital heart disease (CHD). A retrospective and prospective study was performed of 242 normal fetuses and 36 fetuses with CHD between 20 and 33 + 6 weeks of gestation. The FO area was determined in the four-chamber view with manual delineation.

Objective: To assess the trophism of the lower limbs of fetuses with open spina bifida using fractional thigh volume (TVOL) of three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound.
Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was carried out with normal fetuses and with open spina bifida (myelomeningocele and rachischisis) at 26 weeks' gestation. The TVOL (delimitation of five cross-sectional areas of the middle portion of the limb) was evaluated, as well as the subjective assessment of hypotrophy and lower limb movement.

Background: The aim is to assess the levels of fatty acids (FAs) in pregnancies with small for gestational age (SGA) and adequate for gestational age (AGA) fetuses, constituting an association between FAs and fetal growth; according to the role of FA, lower levels were expected in SGA.
Materials And Methods: This was an analytical cross-sectional study including pregnant women with gestational ages of 26-36 weeks with AGA and constitutionally SGA fetuses diagnosed by ultrasonography. The levels of saturated, trans, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fatty acids were measured using centrifugation and liquid chromatography.

COVID-19, also known as coronavirus disease 2019, is an infectious viral disease caused by SARS-CoV-2, a novel coronavirus. Since its emergence, its epidemiology has been explored; however, for some regions of the world, COVID-19's behavior, incidence, and impact remain unclear. In continental nations like Brazil, this lack of knowledge results in nonuniform control, prevention, and treatment measures, which can be controversial in some locations.

This pictorial review describes the assessment of a great variety of types of congenital heart disease by three-dimensional ultrasonography with spatiotemporal image correlation using HDlive and the HDlive Flow silhouette rendering mode. These technologies provide fetal heart surface patterns by using a fixed virtual light source that propagates into the tissues, permitting a detailed reconstruction of the heart structures. In this scenario, ultrasound operators can freely select a better light source position to enhance the anatomical details of the fetal heart.

To present a prenatal diagnosis of diastrophic dysplasia in the second trimester of pregnancy using two- (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) ultrasonography. The mother was primigravida and aged 12 years. She underwent the first 2D obstetric ultrasound examination at 27 weeks, showing bilaterally upper and lower limb micromelia, thumb and hallux in bilateral abduction, bilateral talipes equinovarus; hyperlordosis of the lumbar spine, cervical, lumbar, and sacral scoliosis; cervical hyperkyphosis with the misalignment of cervical vertebrae, and straight clavicles.

Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is defined as the inability of the fetus to reach its potential for genetic determination. FGR can have several causes, including genetic syndromes, chromosomal diseases, and infections; however, a vast majority of cases are probably attributed to impaired uterine and placental circulation. The relationships between abnormal placental development and FGR are complex, and studies are generally few, presenting confounding factors.

Purpose: To establish reference values for the systolic-to-diastolic duration ratio (SDR) of the left ventricle (LV) using spectral Doppler, as well as for the SDR' of the interventricular septum (SEP), LV, and right ventricles (RV) using tissue Doppler of the fetal heart.
Method: This prospective and cross-sectional study evaluated 374 low-risk singleton pregnancies from 20 to 36 + 6 weeks of gestation. The ventricular filling time (FT) was obtained from LV inflow using spectral Doppler.

Patients with special health care needs (PSHCN) may have an increased risk of oral disease throughout the course of their life and require particular delivery of dental care due to their medical condition or limitations. The purpose is to report the dental management of a patient with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS), which was classified as PSHCN due to physical, behavioural, cognitive, and emotional impairment. A 14-year-old female with a clinical diagnosis of CdLS and its common craniofacial features such as microcephaly, short neck, synophrys, arched eyebrows, downturned angle of the mouth, high arched palate, micrognathia, and microdontia was referred to the hospital where the dental treatment was performed under general anesthesia.

Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is a rare cyanotic congenital heart disease that accounts for less than 1% of all congenital heart diseases. TAPVC is characterized by the absence of pulmonary venous drainage into the left atrium. It is underdiagnosed in utero, with prenatal detection rates of less than 1.

Methods: Retrospective cohort which pregnant women were divided into three groups: normal uterine artery Doppler between 20-24 and 26-28 weeks (controls), abnormal uterine artery Doppler between 20-24 and normal between 26-28 weeks (anUtA), and abnormal uterine artery Doppler between 20-24 and 26-28 weeks (aaUtA). To compare adverse perinatal results between the groups Chi-square test was used.

Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the reference ranges for filling time (FT) and systolic-to-diastolic time index (SDI) of the left ventricle (LV) by using spectral Doppler, and FT' and SDI' of the LV, right ventricle, and interventricular septum (IVS) by using tissue Doppler of the fetal heart.
Study Design: This prospective and cross-sectional study included 360 low-risk singleton pregnancies between 20 and 36 + 6 weeks of gestation. The SDI/SDI' is the sum of the ejection time, isovolumic contraction time, and isovolumic relaxation time (IRT) divided by the FT.

Simple transposition of the great arteries (TGA) is a cyanotic heart disease that accounts for 5% to 7% of all congenital heart diseases. It is commonly underdiagnosed in utero, with prenatal detection rates of less than 50%. Simple TGA is characterized by ventriculoarterial discordance, atrioventricular concordance, and a parallel relationship of TGA.
